Crucial P2 SSD

I bought a new 8th generation Intel NUC PC and needed a small inexpensive SSD to go with it. Not only was this a cheap SSD from a well known brand but it also offers blistering fast performance. It arrived in frustration free simple packaging that simply pops open 👍. Installation took less than a minute as is the case with most M2 SSD’s. My NUC had no issues recognising the SSD and I had Windows installed on it in no time. It’s been running 24/7 since I installed it and hasn’t missed a beat.

Crucial is a well respected and established brand. I would always buy an SSD from an established brand rather than a generic device because at the end of the day with data storage I want reliability over and above everything else. This 2TB drive has proved to be exceptionally reliable with acceptable performance. This was purchased for use in a media recorder so speed was not a main consideration. This drive has now been considerably used and is still working perfectly without any issues so it has performed everything I would have expected of it and for that reason I would highly recommend this drive to anyone looking for an entry level drive by a reputable brand.

Good value SSD for use in caching with Asustor Lockster, main reason I purchased the 250GB version as I wasn’t using this for storage purposes, 250GB way to small nowadays to store files so if your using it for storage I’d recommend minimum 500GB. Purchased 2 of them as I have 2 slots which gives me 232.89GB of cache which is overkill for a home user NAS. See after a raid cache setup a total of 500GB after formatting and activation I’m only getting 232GB so be aware of that! Overall I’m happy with what I need it for and response is fast enough for me!

Crucial are amongst the few trusted brands of PC components I use. Bought this for my pc as my 2tb regular mechanical spinning HDD failed. This is my second NVME and although it's probably half as slow as my first - when transfer speeds are gigabytes per second it doesn't really matter/see the difference. Used for my mid range gaming pc it loads games just as fast as a friends new xbox (same game) I also bought a small black vented heatsink which before/after testing reduced temperature by around 10 degrees on the drive (just clips around the drive) - always a good investment.

I use these drives in all the computers in my house, as I have found they are a great price and very reliable. I have noticed some slowing down with large transfers or downloading big games, but overall I am very happy with them.

Background: I have a Legion 5 17in laptop, running i7 10th gen, 16Gb DDR4 RAM, GTX 1660, 512gb NVMe Samsung. Usage: I don’t do games. I teach online… and I bought this so that I could create online materials. I also edit and store photos (for which I have a range of editing software). I installed a second SSD… a 1Tb NVMe on which I store photos, videos, and audio materials for language learning. However, I had almost filled the main 512Gb SSD with apps, etc, and I really needed to upgrade it. I saw the Crucial P2 advertised on Amazon at a cheap price and I snapped it up. I installed it yesterday…. I am not a tech wiz; I’m an English teacher. However, taking the installation slowly and steadily, I was able to complete it without a hitch in 90 minutes (which includes 35/45 mins of cloning via Acronis True Image through the Crucial website. I am happy to report that - so far - on DAY 2 … no problems. A smooth, easy-to-accomplish installation. After installing, I decided to read the customer reviews on Amazon…. and oh! my heart sank. All the top reviews are so negative. (Yes, I should have read them before I purchased… but I didn’t). I am writing this review - which is very positive (so far!) - to redress the balance. If anything changes, I will amend the review. In any event, I’ll try to update the review after a few months usage.

This was bought after allowing the crucial website to scan and recommend for me. You could choose various ways to buy it and Amazon seemed a trusty choice for me. It was easy to install though I couldn't manage to use the suggested free software (can be got from crucial site) to clone my old drive and instead installed a fresh copy of windows 10. My machine seems a bit faster than previously and has a much more useful amount of storage so I am happy . If you are installing inside a laptop, don't forget to remove the battery.

This drive, although my first buy of the NVMe ranges is the best I have ever owned. It is astonishingly very fast in all areas of deployment from start up of windows 11 pro in just under 7 seconds to opening demanding applications. To top it all up, I had it for £119 and a £10 discount for buying it via the amazon mobile app, bringing total paid to just £109. You can't beat that, can you? So far no issues with running it in an Intel i7 10th generation processor configuration with a 16GB memory and I'm loving it!

Le prestazioni sono eccellenti per questa fascia di prezzo: lettura sequenziale sui 2300 MB/s, scrittura intorno ai 940 MB/s, perfetti per uso quotidiano, gaming leggero o lavoro. Crucial è sinonimo di affidabilità e nel tempo questi SSD dimostrano grande stabilità termica e durata. Perfetto come disco principale per notebook o come disco secondario per salvataggio giochi o progetti. Consigliatissimo, anche per chi fa upgrade a basso costo ma non vuole compromessi sulla qualità.

Idéal pour installer Windows. Les vitesses atteignent environ 2400 Mo/s, ce qui suffit largement pour un système fluide, des démarrages rapides et une utilisation quotidienne confortable. Pour un PC bureautique ou gaming léger, pas besoin de plus rapide : il fait parfaitement le job, et la fiabilité Crucial est au rendez-vous. Je recommande !

2tb model, bought for AUD180 with cash back. at that price it's a pretty good deal. moved all my games and school files over to it, have not noticed any slower game loading times as compared to my superfast gen4 ssd, at worst it's probably 2 or 3 seconds slower I'd guess. but inconsequential difference, only need it for mass game/video storage which it does perfectly.
