Holy FAST TRANSFER SPEED
I should start by saying prior to this SSD I had only been using SD cards. So I can’t speak exactly to the reliability or speed of other SSD’s on the market. Even still. Previously I had even purchased the SanDisk ‘PRO-READER SD Express Dual Card’ in hopes that it would improve transfer speeds and while maybe it did, there’s still absolutely no comparison between this SSD speed and the SD cards even with the additional $120 reader. The speed alone is reason enough to buy this. Now I am slightly skeptical as I am a Mac OS user and I’ve read plenty of reviews lamenting issues with disk corruption. So if something like that is to happen for me I will be sure to come back here and update this review. The other bonus is the size. I bought one of the Samsung T7 SSD’s for my friend so when I ordered this I expected the size to be roughly the same. Boy was I wrong. It is much much smaller. And to me that is also a huge plus. It’s roughly the size of a business card but of course a little thicker. Much better size imo than the comparable 3/4 of a phone size most other SSD’s clock in at.An additional note:Although I did download the SanDisk security software that comes already on the SSD in .dmg format I’ve opted to not use a password. I’m not concerned about someone else having access to it and additionally even if anyone else did gain access to it I don’t store anything confidential on it so it wouldn’t really matter to me. I’ve also chosen to do this because from what I’ve read of other reviews it seems that somewhere in between the computer/hard drive and password protection and SSD programming might be where the potential data corruption issues arise after possessing it for a bit of time. As such in efforts to avoid this possible corruption I’ve decided it better off to not have it PW protected.

I wish I had gotten one sooner!
Durable, fast, and dependable—great for both daily use and emergency backupsIf you're someone who tends to knock things around, drop them, or lose stuff under the couch, this drive holds up surprisingly well. I’ve kept mine plugged in constantly for things like File History and versioned backups, and it hasn’t overheated or caused any issues, even after long stretches of use. It’s great if you regularly move, copy, or delete large files. Transfers between computers are fast, and it’s spacious enough to toss everything on without worrying about space or speed. It's especially handy for storing photos and videos—there's plenty of room, and moving them around is quick and easy. This also makes a great "emergency" drive. You can load it with critical files—photos, documents, medical history, bank records, anything you absolutely can’t afford to lose—and just stash it somewhere safe. If you ever need to leave in a hurry or your main system fails, you can just grab it and go. It’s basically a digital safe for your most important stuff. This might be overkill for use as a simple backup drive, but if you find it for a great price, then go ahead!I picked mine up “used – like new” for $89, and it came in standard packaging with no issues. I’d happily grab another if I saw it again at that price.

Fast, Reliable, and Super Convenient – A Must-Have SSD
The SanDisk 1TB Extreme Portable SSD has been a total game-changer for me. It’s insanely fast when it comes to transferring files—downloads and uploads happen in seconds, even for large videos or photo libraries. One of my favorite features is the dual connection: it comes with a USB-C connector and an attachment for regular USB, which makes it incredibly versatile whether I’m using a newer laptop or an older desktop. It’s also super compact and durable—easy to carry around and feels solid in the hand. If you’re looking for a fast, reliable, and convenient portable drive, this is definitely the one to get. Highly recommend!Value for money:Honestly the price is up there but worth it. Other devices are normally a lot slower and aren’t a whole terabyte like this so for the speed and amount of data it can hold it is well worth it.Capacity:literally this terabyte will last you for a long long time
