Easier to install than I was expecting. Zero light comes through.
The blackout curtains in my bedroom let light in the top and it makes it hard to go back to sleep after the sun comes up (I work afternoons and typically get up between 930-10am)This was easy to cut and install. I cut mine about 1/4" wider than my measurement and honestly, I think that will make it easier to remove and reapply. Also, it makes sure it fits. Some reviews complain about the paper being difficult to remove. This is true however, it just takes a little patience and using your fingernail to scrape the film off the paper. Once you get the tiniest bit pulled off you can grab it and easily peel it apart.Installation took me me less than 10min.I washed my window with a mixture of vinegar and water (as I always do) and let it dry about 30min before spraying both the window and the film with soapy water. You don't want to skip this step. By spraying both you can easily slide it around to position. Once I had it where I wanted it, I took a plastic pastry scraper to smooth it out. I started in the middle and gently ran it up the window doing the whole top half. Then I repeated on the bottom half (middle down) and then I did the middle to the sides. The soapy water will come out with every pass. That's it.It doesn't look perfect, but I know I can easily redo it. The 2nd window (left) definitely looks better than the first one I did (right)I only did the top half of my windows because I want to be able to let natural light in when I'm not sleeping.Sorry for such a long review, but this stuff is awesome! Ain't no light getting through this!!!Will update as far as adhesion, heat/light reduction after I try it out for a couple weeks... we'll see how it stands up to the Texas sun...

Easy to install. Cooled my room down.
This stuff is amazing. I have a room that gets direct sunlight in the afternoon. It's at like 102 pounding on the windows.I installed the product. It's so easy. I did buy an installation kit here on Amazon. Make sure and cut a little larger than measured. Spray both the product and the window. If I can do it anybody can.The room now is so much cooler. I'm really amazed how great it works.

If you live in the S/SW... read this...
If you install using the recommended instructions, all seems well and looks great... if you have perfectly straight window molding. I did one window with a pre-measure technique... showed gaps. Other windows I cut 1" wider, applied, then used a blade to cut to fit... much nicer result.HOWEVER, in this heat, with SE facing windows in central Texas.. the "precut" pane fell the next day.. and cut-to fit 2 days after. I re-cleaned the windows and reapplied. Waited a day for the lightly-soaped water to evaporate and applied this to all fours sides: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B001HTGF2K Perfect! Sealed all remaining light out, and has held firm for a week. (Newer windows also have some trim light bleeds through, this took care of that as well.)Save the hassle and do this upfront, instead of having to install twice.(picture is from 8:32 AM)

This product that's what it says it's going to do!
This is a great product! It cool down the room immediately and also blocked out all and wanted sunlight. I got it to use on my skylights. It was very difficult installing it on the ceiling because it is a very heavy and kept coming unstuck. But after several tries it did stick and I backed it up with duct tape just in case it wanted to come down at a later date. I can now view my TV during the day in that room without The Unwanted light from the ceiling washing out the picture of my television set. This product would be absolutely perfect for me if I had been using it on a vertical window instead of a horizontal window on the ceiling. I would definitely buy from this company again hi. The quality is good and their items do what they say they're going to do.

Overall, great investment.
Update: After several weeks we have had a problem with these coming lose from the window. They also have shrunk a good bit and trying to cut strips small enough to fill in the gaps didnt work too well. I literally ended up putting black nail polish (its all I had handy) to fill in the places where it shrank. All of them didnt fall off, but one panel has been fixed 3 times and I've had to fix another once and the edges are loose on a couple others. We recently decided to shrink wrap the windows (this works!!! Dropped the temp about 3 to 4 degrees) so now the film is behind that so hopefully we finally fixed them and they will stay up. Otherwise I'll have to pull the wrap down and redo the film....again. Would still purchase again bc tbey do block out alot of heat and sunlight. Wish i would have known to leave them up overnight before trimming tho so that after they dry and shrink, the window will still be covered.Bought this to black out the windows in our bedroom since my husband works nights. Also, the windows we have are the original 1950s single pane windows, so wanted to block some of the heat coming in as well. We already had 2 sets of black out curtains hung and even pinned them around the window and they were still letting alot of sun in.Installation was fairly easy, but i did figure out a few things.First off.....install during the day!! That way you can see where sunlight is coming in as you put it up, so you don't end up with places around the egde that you've missed that you won't see at night.Second, make sure you cut the panels at least an inch bigger than the window is, this gives you extra coverage around the window. The material stretches a bit when you squeegee it, which will shrink back as it dries.Third, don't trim it until its dry for this purpose. It's going to shrink back down some and those edges will become obvious with the sun coming thru. All this being said, I wouldn't use these on their own. We still used both sets of blackout curtains over them, but the room is now perfectly dark, where there was alot of sun still coming in before. I will say that my husband wanted it pitch black and we achieved that about 90% with the installation of these. They are also blocking out a good amount if heat now too which should def help keep the room cooler. The inside of the window is just warm now where it was hot.Overall, I would buy these again tho.

Excellent
Excellent product. Stays in place by spraying water when installing and hasn't come off the window at all. Been on my window for over a year now.
