The lamp is stylish, but unfortunately the hinge doesn't work. At the hinge, there's a little metal piece you tighten to keep the head of the lamp at the height you want. However, even when tightening it all the way, the lamp head just falls back down and hits the table. I ordered two: one would stay up until you tapped it, then it would fall, and the other would just fall immediately. So basically, they are non-functional. I'll be returning them.

This review is for the Tech Series lamp -- the one with the built-in charging base. (I am specifying this here because Amazon continues to lump the reviews for multiple different Globe Electric models together under the same listing.)This lamp may look nice from a distance, but it is poorly-designed, cheaply-built, and its balance is all wrong.Despite photos that show the lamp in completely vertical orientation in the listing, the lamp can not stand upright: adjustability of the arm is limited from 2 o'clock to about 5 o'clock. Adjustability of the head is severely constrained, as well.Since the head extends out over the base, you would think the base would be heavy enough to securely counterbalance it, right? Unfortunately, it isn't... and that's the biggest fail of this lamp. It is so top-heavy that a tiny nudge or bump can send it tipping over on its head... not a good thing, if your expensive phone is charging on its base.Speaking of the base, there are more poor design choices in abundance there. The charging spot is very small and, while there is a blue LED to indicate when wireless charging has been initiated, that indicator is so tiny, dim, and poorly-placed as to be useless. If your phone is in a case, it will likely cover the LED.Additionally, the switch on the head is super cheap and does not provide positive feedback when used.It might be easy to think that you are getting a bargain for a lamp with a charger all in one, but this is anything but a bargain: the lamp gets so much wrong and fails at so many basic levels of design that I could not recommend it at even a fraction of its selling price.Anyone would be much better off to get a standalone wireless charger and a separate lamp from another manufacturer that is properly balanced.

This is a terrible product. It is really deceptive in the photos - there is virtually no range of movement (you can't move the head more vertical than shown in the pictures, also it IS NOT SPRING LOADED (just a plastic screw holding it up which is very weak). It had a dent on one of the pieces straight out the box. Overall it looks really cheap, I suppose, because it is really cheap. I shall be returning this and buying something better quality, even if it costs more. You get what you pay for and this is terrible value for money.

Cute style. Feels sturdy/heavy enough. The arm is not spring loaded. The bolt used to tighten the hinge needs to be tight for the arm to stay in place. If this were to be stripped and you couldn't fully tighten it, you would have issues with it not staying in place.There is also less adjustability than I anticipated. 45⁰ is as open as you can make it, but it can drop all the way down to the base (see photos). I would have liked for the head to be raised farther than the 45⁰ but it's not a deal breaker.The head can be fully rotated, there are no limitations there.The lightbulb does extends past the edge of the head of using an LED19A50/150 energy saving bulb style bulb. I had an older helical bulb and that did not show past the head as it's a bit shorter than the other bulb, but I plan to put a full spectrum bulb in it for my plants so I anticipate this being an issue still.

Disappointed. While it feels like decent quality, it isn't designed very well. The top part holding the bulb seems to be too heavy and so the entire lamp is leaning forward. The range of motion is limited, too. In the photo this is as high as it goes. The metal piece in the back also makes it limited as to where I can put it on my desk, it takes up about 6 in more space than the actual lamp simply because of that decorational knob sticking out. Will return.

I recently purchased a new desk and decided I also wanted a new desk light. After reviewing several desk lights, I thought the gold color looked best on the dark desktop. I selected this light because I like the color, design and the fact that the on-off switch is at the top of the light instead of in the cord. My only (very minor) complaint is that I would have liked a little more upward adjustment but that's not a significant issue. I'm quite pleased with this lamp.

Out of the box there were scratches on the base and the two arm attachments were off color and mismatched for texture (regardless of lighting, they don't match the rest of the lamp). The end of the long adjustment arm arm has pocks in it and the arm adjustment knob is only partially painted (in the photo it looks like shadow, but it's missing paint). I know this wasn't the most expensive lamp, but that's an awful lot of flaws right out of the package. The lamp works fine, the focus of light is narrow and doesn't quite match how wide it appears in the product pictures. I'll be sending it back with great disappointment. If it had just been one issue I would have kept it but I can't validate 5. For the record, this company is a fair trade and fair wage company, it is what helped me decide to purchase from them. Due to this fact I'm going to try to find a less complicated product from their line in the hopes that this was just a fluke.

Ok, so this thing isn't as bad as some other reviews say. But, that said, there are design issues with this thing. The head is too big and heavy, therefore, the hinge part have issues holding it up, a wrong move and it can come crashing down. In addition, one of the two screw in parts just wouldn't screw in at all due to bad machining of the grooves for them to screw into each other.The other thing is that the light switch is on the cord, its just not convenient for when the cord falls behind your table.With some redesigns this could be an awesome piece, but the design issues have to be worked through.Its also not as sleek as in the picture, as in the head and base being much larger than the rendering.I think its ok for someone who wants something that looks cool, but wont need to move it around much.I will be returning.

Just to let you guys know this product is pretty large it’s super cute adjustable and is a total vibe. However sometimes I have experienced the screw that holds the head at a certain position or a point to get loose and they had has dropped down. Also depending on where you’re using for or where your outlets are the plug is pretty short so you might need to put extender cord in depending where you want to put the fixture and where the outlet is

It's a nice lamp, but it didn't come with a bulb. Also, that's as far up as it goes, it doesn't go vertical as shown in the picture. Mine also arrived with a very foul oder of marijuana. Not sure what they are doing over in the factory but now my room smells like a drug lab :). Also it makes a chirping sound every second. It's really quiet but it's still there and if I had to guess it's probably the wireless charger.

Love the design and clean lines! Loved the look so much I purchased 2 more for my bedroom. Bought more as a design element than for practicality. The range of motion on the arm is limited, it is fully extended in this picture.
