Surprisingly good
Pleasantly surprised with the sound. Put them in a beater Silverado I have because they were cheap, but they compete well above their price range. They’re only running off of the head unit, but they seem to make good use of the low power.

These Recoil 6.5 component speakers are amazing if you set them up correctly!!!
These Recoil 6.5 component speaker are an amazing upgrade from any stock component speakers. Tuned and powered correctly is how they really shine. I installed the Recoil crossover for these component with the lowest DB setting on the tweeter do to it being installed in my windshield pillar. The HPF I set to 120 hz on my Recoil DI 550.4 amp and gain was set to 50% on amp also. The provided crossover crosses to the tweeter at 3000hz which is good but I wish they crossed it around 3500hz because the Fs of the tweeter is 1600hz. I'm feeding these components only 60 watts RMS and they get loud, stay clean, and image very well. The tweeter is actually very articulate without any shrilling due to my dropping the DB in their crossover so that this silk dome tweeter cone stays in control. The mids are really good and mid woofers stays in control at high volumes do to the 120hz crossover I set...I'm running a Stinger MT1000.1 mono amp at 50% gain on their Stinger 12 inch 1 ohm 700 watt RMS/ 1200 watt max subwoofer that is tuned to 35hz ported in there excellently built ported box. The subsonic filter is set to 30hz and the crossover is set to 70hz...After blending the subwoofer in with the components I can actually say this system IS a great sound quality system. For less than $600.00 for everything listed above this is the best price to performance audio system I've have ever had... This system shames the MB Quart Onxy series component/coaxial setup with (2) 10 inch Power Bass subwoofer setup I had years ago for half the price!

Best Value Components Period!
I bought 2 sets of these because I just had to see how good a $40 set of components were. WOW! These things are actually really good. I have owned JL Audio, Infinity, JBL and Pioneer and these are definitely on par with those brands. I built a couple small boxes for them, and have them hooked up to a Logitech computer speaker setup. The output is about 50 watts to each and man they sound amazing. Check the videos out. If you are using headphones you will hear bass but thats coming from the 8 inch woofer in the logitech setup. But the highs and mids are all in the Recoil speakers. Its so loud and clear you can hear them across my house from my office. The wife and kids get tired of it and come and shut my door because they can't hear the TV! LOL I would give these 5 stars for sound quality but they are budget components. And I feel that's going a bit too far to say 5 stars. But trust me I didn't take a star off because I didn't like the sound. I took 1 star off the build quality because they didn't come with speaker grills. But that's minor and although it really doesn't warrant removing a star that could be aggravating for some people. Overall the build quality on these is top notch. Still cant believe the price on these things.

They sound great better then my Bose
Wasn't sure about these speakers but they had 4.5 stars and for $50 thought I try them. We let me just say this I have the Bose package in my Silverado and after putting these it made my Bose speakers sound like 1980's headphones this really sound great well worth way more then $50 will be buying again!

Nice
I have been in car audio for 30 years. I just took a chance on these. I figured would do much but I was wrong these sound amazing. Even without an amp they are nice but throw like a 1000 watt amp and they scream. Definitely worth the money.

Decent. No customer service?
For the price? Not bad. Crossovers are pretty solid. Speaker and Tweeter quality seem to be far better constructed than you would expect from the price tag. Audio quality? I'd say it's $100 setup for 50 bucks. Overall I'm satisfied with the purchase. It does a decent job and worked on the budget. Unfortunately one of my tweeters keeps cutting out. My brother is a professional car audio guy and I had him professionally install it and set the gains and the clip and all the other things that he does. I sent an email to customer service but the email just bounces around it says it's undeliverable. I call and it take you to some other company. They transfer your call over to The recoil people and it just rings and rings. Clearly there's a faulty part. I would say I'm pushing it too hard but then both of them would start to act up but both of the six and a half and the other Tweeter are performing flawlessly and don't seem to mind being used a little bit. It's just the one tweeter. So overall it's a good buy. You're getting way more than you would expect for $50. Audio quality is decent build quality is solid but the customer service is lacking. I don't know what I expected for $50 but everybody spoke highly of their customer service. I'm not sure why I am the anomaly? I've made multiple attempts and have been able to reach nobody. I wish they would remedy the situation or at least talk to me. Perhaps it's an issue they've run into before and know exactly how to fix it. But even a professional audio guy couldn't clearly diagnose it instead it might just be a bad crossover although all of his testing and diagnostics did not reveal that. I guess in the end you get what you buy and in this case you're generally getting more than you pay for.

What do I know?
Installed these in '05 Tahoe with Bose factory amp. Did not use cross overs as amp has frequency filters built in. No idea RMS of factory amp, if Google doesn't know, neither do I. Installation was smooth, just had to cut flush mount opening in "A" pillar to make tweeter recess and drill 4 holes in door to hold woofer. Installed tweeters first and took a listen. It sounded absolutely terrible. I'm running a GM factory head unit out of an '05 Monte Carlo and the treble was set to near max to compensate for factory Bose. Turned that to 0 and speakers were very clean. Tweeters sound excellent and have a high stance to the mids without turning up the gain. Nice. Installed the woofer in the drivers door next and again, took a listen. The woofers in this set compliment the tweeters very well. Had fade set to front and balance to left to isolate just the drivers side. Balanced to the right and easily heard how factory was sloppy. Volume is much higher than factory as well. Now I did some research prior to purchase and was legit only looking for improvement over factory sound on a genuinely low budget. The build quality is far and above that of factory, I don't know quality compared to other brands, I didn't buy other brands. They sound cleaner, louder, work great on this factory amp, and could near max out factory head unit volume without distorting. I am genuinely happy with this purchase. In previous reviews, I noted people commenting on bass performance, specifically how it lessened from factory speakers. Factory speakers are designed to do full range of frequencies to compensate for not having a dedicated sub. Speakers this size should not be given bass frequencies and should not perform well if they were. If you are upgrading your speakers, imaging what putting in a subwoofer would do! I am prematurely confident that I will not feel the need to install an amplifier for these. So, these perform very well in a 2005 Chevy Tahoe on a factory bose amp when installed in factory locations. But hey, what do I know?
