So far so good
So far, PT Alpine is the best product I've tried to control flies on the patio. I've tried sticky traps and the hanging bags that smell like rotten eggs.. neither of them worked for me. I also picked up a can of Quickstrike granuels, which I've read works well, and I will leave a review on that one after I get around to trying it.PT Alpine is not perfect, but it gets the job done. The product makes 2 main claims: 1) that it attracts flies and 2) that it kills flies. It does NOT seem to be a good attractant at all. They will lick the sprayed surface if they happen to land on it, but they don't seem to be attracted to it. When used by itself, flies still buzz around but never land on the sprayed surface. If you put some food or garbage out to attract the flies, and then spray it, it works great. Within 15 seconds or so after landing on the sprayed bait, the flies will start twitching and fall over motionless. It is VERY effective. I'm sure it works so well on trash dumpsters because the stinky dumpster itself functions as the attractant, not the fly bait. It's peculiar how this product works. I've noticed that it doesn't always seem to kill flies right away.. sometimes they will come back to life and start break dancing or twitching after appearing to be dead for 20+ minutes.. but then they will once again stop moving, and they never get back up and fly away.Overall, it's a highly effective product for fly control as long as you have something to attract them to it. Though calling it "bait" is a bit of a misnomer, since it doesn't seem to do anything to lure flies.**UPDATE** Photo added to my review of my solution some general notes about fly control, and my comments on Quickstrike.Firstly, Quickstrike granules work almost identical to PT Alpine (extremely well), so either product will do the job, depending on how you prefer to approach the problem. It only works if you add liquid to the granules and let the flies eat it, but that means there's clean-up to do and it still requires an attractant. I chose to stick with PT Alpine for reasons explained below. The fly problem I'm trying to solve is keeping them off the patio so I can sit/grill in peace. My solution (the attached photo - an early prototype) was to repurpose an empty cashew can. Inside the can, I put a styrofoam cup filled with stinky bait (more on my bait below). I cut a hole in the lid of the can and put a scrap piece of window screen under it. I set this contraption out in the grass, spray the lid and screen with PT Alpine, and then let the flies do their thing. Why did I do it this way? Because I never have to clean up fly carcasses! The flies go after the smell but can't get inside, they lick the lid and screen and then die in the grass and get mowed up later. Another big bonus is that I use very little PT spray, so it will last a long time. In my testing, PT remains very effective for at least a week if not longer, which is impressive. As for my bait.. since I had some of the hanging fly traps left over that you fill with water, but instead of returning them, I removed the pouches of attractant and poured them into a shaker jar. I read somewhere that it is dehydrated fermented eggs. I shake a little bit of it into the styrofoam cup with some apple cider vinegar. The cider vinegar not only attracts flies, but also gnats (which PT Alpine also kills), and the stinky stuff helps a lot. I didn't want to use anything sweet that might attract ants or bees. Apple cider vinegar is effective and slow to evaporate. This is working well for me.Whatever product/method you use, here is the key to mastering fly control: Almost any product will work as long as you have a good attractant. Fly paper works great IF you put it near something stinky. PT Alpine works IF you spray it near something stinky. Quickstrike will work IF you put in something stinky. But nearly all products require you to regularly clean up hundreds or thousands of fly corpses, which is never fun. So that's why I did it the way I did it, and there is still room for improvement. The 2nd most important consideration is: Flies like shade if it's hot, and sun if it's cool, so put your solution where it will work best.I hope my tips help others! Good luck, and get creative.

Doesn't just work on flies....
The past week or so every time I go shower I would notice a random few ants which, at first, didn't think much of it and would just spray them down the drain. Tonight, there were about ten or so though. I didn't have anything specifically made to kill or deter ants but I remembered having a can of PT Alpine so I thought I'd give it a try. I had no clue where the ants were coming in from but decided to spray the perimeter of the shower on the outside. After doing that, I opened the shower door and noticed that what I had sprayed was forcing them to flee their hiding spot and they'd begun collecting in an area around a screw hole in the trim. So I sprayed along the inside ledge where they were concentrated. I returned to the scene a few minutes later and found a ton of dead ants. Not dying, DEAD. Not a single live one. I have also used it to kill and vacate wasps nests. Great product!

TRULY WORKS. BUY ASAP
I’ve never found anything more effective than this! Our shared dumpster in the alley is disgusting, it’s shared by four houses and two days after it gets picked up there are a million flies & maggots. I’ve tried too many things to name and then my mom told me about this stuff and I’ll never purchase anything else! The best way to do it is set out food for bait and spray 6-12inches away. The flies will attract to the food then die within minutes of landing where you sprayed. It took about 5 minutes for the flies to go near but this picture was taken about 35 minutes later! I spray each bag of trash we take out and I spray the dumpster daily.

Best product ever to kill flies
This is the best product that we have found for our fly problem. We just sprayed it around our outside door frame and on our columns. The spray sticks to whatever you spray it on and lasts 1 week. The flies drop and die quickly. Be careful to keep away from pets.

Updated!
Had to request full refund- product did not even spray first time I tried - it’s full but no pressure to spray out - very disappointing as I had high hopes being in Florida for the summer!Update! Im updating from a score of 1 to 4. The 1 was due to can not spraying at all when it came but company gave full refund and did not require product sent back. I was able to take off the tip and get small amounts to come out can on top of outside garbage can. The next morning there were dead flies everywhere so I did same thing on window in living room which is where if one fly gets in that’s where it goes. It’s been about a month and I still find a fly here and there in window dead from this stuff. I’m about to give them another chance and buy another can hoping it has no issues because this stuff works and keeps working! I’m Florida heat it’s badly needed

This Stuff Works!
This stuff works! We live on a farm and have a lot of flies especially during rainy season. I sprayed it two days ago and all flies are eliminated and continuing to be eliminated! I've never used a product that works this well.

It’s the last dance for flies!
We live in an area where there are lots of cows, horses, and other farm animals. They all attract flies and the flies will show up at your house especially during hot weather. You can spray this in your garage or porch or patio and soon you will see flies on the floor going around in circles. They die quickly and you can sweep them up or blow them out with a blower.

It works!
I can’t lie I’m pretty sad to find that all the reviews about the nozzle spraying all over and making a mess r true! It’s pretty disappointing paying so much for such a crummy bottle but the product inside saves this review- it does work like nothing else u can buy at the store. It kills flies like crazy! They don’t have a chance! And the best part is there’s no smell! I run an air bnb with dogs so no smell and less flies is awesome! Now if only it would make their dead bodies disappear;) Please fix ur packaging!!!!!
