I love the precision of this thermometer and the large easy-to-read numbers. I like that fact that you only have to immerse the tip of the thermometer in a liquid to get a reading; my old glass ones demanded that the liquid come up to the 2-inch mark to get an accurate reading. And trying to read the scale on the old glass analog thermometer, wiping of the steam and trying to see far the red had risen before it got steam-covered again, and then figuring out the temperature from seeing how many marks past 200 it went, is something I don't miss!What I do miss is being able to clip it to the edge of my pot; it wouldn't be that hard to add a clip that would allow that. Although the cover you put on for storage has a clip, it can't be used that way. That's the only reason I docked it a star in my rating. If you're going to use it on baked/roasted items, it wouldn't be an issue.

I have never used a thermometer with such a quick response to readout temp as this one. Easy to use - didn't even have to read the instructions to use it. Accuracy is important in many of the items I make and this thermometer fits the bill perfectly. Have used it several times already and it has become my favorite and "go to" thermometer for everything.Update on original review. My thermometer worked great for a short time but after a period of dormancy I noted the battery was "dead". I replaced the battery with a new button cell and it worked as good as new.....until it didn't. Even though the thermometer is turned off it continues to draw power until the battery dies. This usually occurs before the next use after a new battery is installed (have installed 2). Got a couple weeks of candy making use out of it before it was trash.

Excellent thermometer, but the instructions are written in fine white print on a gray background - definitely not for anyone with vision problems. What were they thinking?My other problem was with the probe protector. Am I the only person who tried to pull the cap off? And tried and tried? And finally realized that the top of the probe only looks like a pull-off cap? Duh. Other than that, I love it! As advertised, the readout is fast, fast, fast.

I really like this thermostat, the last one I had spent around $10 on and it took a long time to register the temperature. I figured I spend a little more on a replacement when my last one broke, and I was not disappointed. With this one, I just have to wait a few seconds for it to show me the current temperature.It can also be calibrated, so if you're a stickler for accurate temperate like me, this is the one for you. I just boiled some water and waited until it was at full boil and adjusted the calibrated so that it read 100*C.It says it is dishwasher safe, yet I'm reluctant to try it out. Yet if I do, I will up date my review.

Thought that this would be a big help in bread making and in taking the guess work out of cooking. Well worth the price. Have used it for water temp, bread temp, meat temp and just for fun, my own temp. All readings were quick and seemed to be quite accurate. I haven't done the water and ice test but my body temp was .1 degree different than a simultaneous o r a l thermometer reading and the Measupro reading was taken in about 2-3 seconds. Be careful, the tip of the Measupro instant read is pretty sharp under one's tongue! The 90 degree extension is an added plus for hot liquids. Display is large and easily read

The other reviewers have commented at great length about the features of this thermometer so I won't repeat them. Suffice it to say that it is quick to measure, easy to use as a result of its size and has intuitive buttons.It reads so fast that it was measuring the air temperature as soon as the protective sheath was removed. For me, this is one of the most desirable features of a thermometer. I tested it in boiling and ice water and against another digital thermometer and the readings were spot on.If I had a minor gripe it is that the protective sheath does not fit too well and is somewhat loose but not enough of a distraction to really matter.

I really wanted to like this thermometer, but I ended up hating it. It's mainly used for candy making, but I would be better off using my eye instead of this piece of junk.Upon receiving the item I heated up a pot of water to see how accurate it was. I kid you not, it was 31.4°F off. I've attempted to recalibrate the thing, but it will only allow you to change the base temperature by a few degrees.In the grand scheme of things, being that off isn't too much of a problem as simple math could solve my issue. This would suffice if it didn't have yet another major flaw: The moment the candy hits a real temp of 255°F, (and this thermometer reads 223.6°F) the MeasurPro thermometer jumps up and down 8°F even though it is being held in one spot! (No, it isn't touching the bottom of the pot.) I can't get an accurate read and have ruined many batches of caramels because of it. For now, I'm sticking with my analog thermometer.

Fairly good probe type thermometer. It reacts rapidly--and that is the problem. There is no "hold" button, to keep the temperature where you measured it. I ended up with a second, Taylor, which is slightly slower, but does have a hold button, and is more useful.

Actually seems to work really well. It was very easy to calibrate and holds the calibration well. Easy to read and really is waterproof. The only reason I gave it a 4 not a 5 is because I haven't used it a whole lot, so not sure how it will stand up to constant use over time. So far, so good!

This is fantastic. Meat is so succulent now and nothing has been dry since using this. I find that meat is cook way quicker than i used to think and my kids are enjoying the juicy roasts

One of the best purchases on Amazon. Excellent quality product and very simple to use. Quick and accurate and provides temp data in centigrade and farenheit scales. I bought two just so I can give my dad one too.

Good easy to use

First impression... the packaging looks cheap, but don't judge the thermometer by its cover. The thermometer itself is very well made. Have not have the opportunity to use it yet on food, but so far tested on hot water and various things around the house it seems to be very quick and accurate. Very satisfied with the purchased and would not hesitate to purchase any other MeasurPro product in the future.
