Great HD Storage for SATA Drives
These HD storage cases are perfect for storing individual 3.5" SATA drives! I bought a set of five cases for my audio recording business. We use several SATA Seagate drives (500GB to 2TB) for multiple recording systems (hot-swappable SATA bays and external SATA Docks), with active project backups and archive. We have several 'inactive' drives at any one time, and occasionally need to transport drives to locations. Until now, we have slipped the drives back into the original anti-static plastic sleeves and stowed them in a foam-cushioned case. Not so great - potential for loose foam pieces, dust, dirt, and secure fit were all concerns. Also not convenient if you want to just take one drive to a location or studio. These cases feature a sturdy construction (plastic thickness and quality is quite good); a good snap latch; good edge seal (wouldn't dunk these in water, but a spill shouldn't be a disaster). All of my drives fit them, though the 2TB drives ARE snug. The cases stack without sliding around from a slight bump of the table/desk. Case label is limited to a few lines, enough for drive name and general description. No space for a long list of items, but you can always keep a detailed list on paper in the case (e.g., print screen of your drive's file browser window). We keep logs of project locations, and just designate Drive Name/Letter. The anti-static/shock matting inside is an excellent feature; it lines the entire inside of the case. The lining is rather firm, not flexible and foamy, so don't expect much soft cushioning... which wouldn't be much protection to a hunk of metal anyway. Granted, I wouldn't be dropping these things, but the quality of construction is reassuring. Very happy with these, and will be purchasing another 5 (or more) cases! Price for the quality of these is fine; much better than sliding your drive into a thin plastic box with ridges and a few strips matting. Definitely worth protecting your investment! Please note: The previous review knocks the rating down to 4 Stars because of the price of the product, actually shows customer pics of the cases... and it's a different model of case. The review needs to be moved to the correct product.

very nice very solid storage case
these are very nice drive cases. older drives can be a very tight fit but all of the newer drives (within 10 years) fit perfectly. I would not test dropping one but they are padded and pretty solid so the drive might survive.

A Must Have for Data Guardians
These protective storage cases have become my go-to solution for safeguarding and organizing my 3.5-inch HDDs and SSDs. The first thing that struck me was the level of protection these cases provide. They are rock-solid and offer a snug, secure fit for my drives. I no longer worry about accidental drops or impacts damaging my precious data. Each case features a handy label slot, which is a thoughtful touch for someone like me who likes to keep everything meticulously organized. I can easily identify the drive's contents at a glance. Cases are made of high-quality materials, and you can feel the sturdiness in your hands. They're built to last and withstand everyday wear and tear. This 5-pack is a fantastic deal. It's a budget-friendly solution for protecting and organizing multiple drives. Plus, it's ideal for anyone who, like me, likes to keep backups and archives. While designed for 3.5-inch drives, these cases also accommodate 2.5-inch drives with ease, thanks to the included foam padding. It's a versatile solution for various drive sizes. I appreciate the clean, minimalist design of these cases. They look sleek and professional on my shelf, giving my workspace a tidy, organized feel.

Not as good as the old design, but still great hard drive cases.
Great hard drive cases, but taking a star away because they changed the design slightly for some reason. The old design had a better clasp. Previously it had a real clasp that you folded up, with plenty of finger space. The new design requires pushing in on one side while pulling up and out to open it. Another negative is they no longer come with the adapter for 2.5 inch drives, which is partially why I bought another pack of these. Though it's my own fault I didn't notice the changes in the pictures to see the changes. They're still great cases, seems plenty durable and protective. The use of a "living hinge" doesn't bother me much, as I've seen other reviews mention, as they can be rather durable, lasting over a million flexes.

These work well.
These work well. I have some 3.5" hard drives from old PC's and backup systems that are still usable for storage and redundant back ups. But they needed some place to reside. These are fine for that. The inside have a protective coating and the outside has an affixed label. They do what they're supposed to and the price is fair. I would buy again.

Ample goodness
Overall a decent case, it’s padded inside and is durable to protect your hard drive, but with the 8tb hard drive I had to squeeze it shut, but not too much, it should stay locked, probably won’t open up, doesn’t look like it will anyway I kinda shook it and tried to pry it open it remained shut.

Great case and still going strong a year later.
I used to store my bare drives ina box in separate no static bags. I dropped one on a tile floor and caused my drive to fail. This cases are padded and as an extra precaution I use the nonstatic envelope that the drive was shipped in to store it in these containers. They fit great. They aren't lose and fit snug but not too snug with the envelopes. I like these more than the big cases that has slots for the drives because it gives more storage flexibility and doesn't leave the bare drive without protection if carrying from container to drive holder. I'm going to buy another order because I have more drives I need to store. For those that are worried that the hinge is weak because it's plastic I'm here to say it's not. I use this all the time -- open and close, open and close -- and not one has become broken, loose or stretched. It's a plastic case so it's going to be plastic. If you want metal then you're risking that it won't be as gentle if it falls. For instance how many cell phone cases are made from metal? I would rather risk my hinge breaking than my drive breaking. That being said, these hinges are not flimsy plastic but as sturdy as the case. I love this case.

Wonderful Hard Drive Case… Hate the Plastic Wrapping
very secure and protective cases I use for my 3.5 Hard Drives…. I would like the company to not pack each case in plastic…the box the hard drives are in is enough protection. I hate having to throw the plastic packaging into the garbage which is an environmental problem…. your ORICO cases are just fine without the plastic… please consider NOT wrapping in plastic….thx u.
