Nice surprise
I was skeptical about this item because of the cheap price, boy was I wrong. The drill bit made a perfect 8-32 screw hole for a set screw in a metal tube. I put a little oil on the drill tip. It was a fraction of the cost of similar name brand sets I saw in the big box stores. Highly recommend!

Tap me out Scotty!
These drill taps would probably work best in metals, and thinner ones at that. I did try them in Nylon and they were not great with the 1/4-20 one I used. I think they would be totally fine with metals, and unpowered. I was using a lathe.

Great customer service
I broke the 1/4 -20 almost immediately. In retrospect I probably should have used my drill vs 1/4 hex shanked impact driver, and would had have more control of the speed. Contacted the company and they immediately sent out a replacement. Wasn't happy tap broke, but the company did stand behind their product.

Dull and break easily
Don't buy these! Dull, barely drill, and the tap portion doesn't cut well at all. Used on 12g mild steel, and broke two of these within the first six holes. Used plenty of cutting fluid and low speed. Better off to buy a single Klein or Greenlee drill tap. I quit using these after the second one broke, and switched to a quality drill and separate quality tap. Drilled and tapped 20 holes in the same time it took to break two of these.

They work, but aren’t very strong.
I’m giving 3 stars, because they did eventually get the job done, but not without some frustration. I think if you were using them on a drill press, they may work better. I was free hand drilling through 3/16” aluminum. Thankfully, all but one of the four that broke, broke off with enough sticking out that I could easily remove it with vise grip pliers. I think they actually seemed to work better with my 20v Dewalt impact driver at slow speed, than they did with the drill. With a typical tap, I am used to running it in partially, then backing out, then running in some more, backing out, etc. With the first 3 that broke, attempting to back out when I felt too much resistance is when they broke. I had more success with them when I would just slowly let the impact driver power through the resistance. Ended up finishing the job just fine. I still prefer this to drilling, then tapping, but be prepared to deal with some broken bits.
