The Definitive Version of Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man, to Own!
This is a must own Spider-Man film, and DVD. It’s really the only way to get all of the special features. Picture quality SD, but it’s all here! I recently purchased a 4K copy, but not the trilogy. It includes the 4K & Blu-ray with some features, I assume. Plus, it’s not all 3 films stacked. I once owned the collector’s edition box set, I got rid of it though 🤷♂️ I’m dumb 😩 I got it twice actually, and the regular DVD, my 3rd time purchasing I think. I bought it again after learning my Blu-rays had no special features included, except for Spider-Man 3…I even had the Spider-Man 2 gift set, twice I think, again I’m dumb. Hopefully, I’ll hang on to these new DVDs I bought all over again. If you love Spider-Man especially the Sam Raimi films, this is a must own! I forgot Spider-Man 4 was announced a few days ago, years back. At least, Tobey was in No Way Home. I heard the New Day trailer releases next week 🙌 Looking forward to it!

Great transition from the comics to the big screen
"Spider-Man" as directed Sam Raimi, serves to prove that a movie can be greater than the sum of its parts. There is no aspect of this movie that jumps out and makes the viewer gasp: the acting is solid, but not Oscar worthy, the special effects are more than serviceable, but not breathtaking, and the plot is entertaining, but not particularly complex. However, when all of these elements are rolled in to one, you get a movie that is not just good, but great. "Spider-Man" is a genuinely entertaining film that manages to avoid many of the pitfalls other comic book adaptations have encountered. For example, it is my opinion that the X-Men movie took itself far too seriously, while conversely, the later Batman films weren't anywhere near serious enough. Driving this movie is the acting of its two main characters, Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, and Kirsten Dunst as his love interest, Mary Jane. While some have argued that Maguire's performance was somewhat leaden, I thought it was perfect within the context of the movie. Peter Parker is supposed to be withdrawn, a nerd really, and Maguire plays the role to perfection. On the flip side, Dunst absolutely sparkles in her role. Much has been made of her scenes wearing a tank-top in the pouring rain, and she is an undeniably beautiful woman. However, she is also a very talented actor who conveys the full gamut of human emotion in her facial expressions. I came into this movie not expecting much from her, and left very impressed. The supporting cast is likewise solid, particularly William Dafoe in the role of the schizophrenic Green Goblin. He deftly succeeds in turning what could have been a very cookie cutter villain into a surprisingly empathetic character. The story itself is relatively straightforward, and will be familiar to anyone who has even a passing knowledge of the Spider-Man comics. That said, it was no less enjoyable for its predictability. In particular, the early scenes, in which Peter is coming to grips with his newfound powers, contain just the right mix of humor and suspense. Finally, this DVD is loaded with special features. While deleted scenes are noticeably absent, they are more than made up for by outtakes, commentary, making of footage, music videos and DVD-ROM content. You definitely get a lot of bang for the buck with this two-disc set. Ultimately, "Spider-Man" accomplishes exactly what it set out to: entertain. It isn't pretentious, or riddled with `inside' jokes, but it also doesn't descend into slapstick. It contains the perfect mixture of action, humor and romance, and combines very good performances from the cast with solid special effects. In conclusion, I guess the highest praise I can offer this movie is that I can't believe I have to wait another year for the sequel to come out! Enjoy!

One Word to Describe This Blu-Ray Release of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man: Amazing
This Blu-Ray release of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man from 2002 is amazing, like the actual Stan Lee and Steve Ditko Marvel Spider-Man comic books the film is based on. The picture quality for this Blu-ray release is fantastic, looking even crisper and clearer than the original DVD release of this movie and, unsurprising, even the VHS release ever was back than. Everything looked better with this Blu-ray, and while I won't spoil anything what happens in this movie for those who didn't see it yet, I can say that the 1080p high definition upgrade is well worth it. It does also have some bonus features that was carried over from the original two disc DVD release. It, however, does not have all of the DVD bonus features such as the exclusive Marvel dot digital comic books on disc two of the two disc edition that was readable as DVD-ROM content, which is understandable as Blu-ray doesn't currently have Blu-ray ROM capabilities that I know of. It is lacking other bonus features from the DVD edition such as the Nickelback Hero music video and Sum 41's What Where All About music video, possibly because Sony couldn't get the licensing for both music videos to include on this Blu-ray release. For those reasons, I'm will be keeping both this Blu-ray edition as well as the two disc DVD edition together in my collection so I won't lose access to any of the DVD exclusive bonus features I do enjoy consuming. This Blu-ray is still amazing for the superb picture quality it almost feels very close to a movie theater experience. If you want to see this movie at the best home theater presentation possible, get this. This Blu-ray definitely gets a full five star rating from me. Highly recommended!

Unsurprisingly Great
Watching from Sweden but obviously watching the movie in english. Great scan of the movie, available in english 7.1 Atmos and 5.1 DTS. The Atmos version is super immersive and you really get that pop out of the audio and picture quality. Im watching it on a OLED CX65 aswell as using a merdian soundbar from LG but playing the movie through my PS5, to me it sounds and looks incredible (Not an audiophile, more so visiual nerd). I am suprised at how good my PS5 works as an 4K blu ray player.
