Reed Switch Kit Provides Good Value
These switches are in the closed position when the magnet is close and opens when the magnet is about 3/4" away. All five switches worked perfectly and the included double-sided tape made installation easy.

Works perfectly and attached to my existing alarm without issue.
Worked perfectly! I have a security system with door/window open alarms. One of the sensors got damaged and these spliced right onto the alarm unit meaning I don't have to replace the entire alarm. I only needed to replace the damaged sensor end. Saved me a bundle.

They are normally closed
I didn't notice they are normally closed, just had to change my code to work correctly.

Terrible switches, and not NC!
These are not NC switches, they are NO. Also they work terribly, sometimes not triggering, and other times staying on even after the magnet is removed. Purchased "Black NC" December 2021. Wasted a ton of time wiring them up only to find they don't work correctly (or at all). About to waste more time returning them to get my money back. They're sending a UPS guy to my house to pick them up tomorrow. What a stupid waste; they can't be resold and should just be thrown away. I recommend buying these from a reputable vendor instead.

Good so far
Works as expected. Comes with screws and 3M mounting tape. These are indeed normally closed. In the magnetic switch context, "normal" means when the magnet is adjacent to the switch. For example, a house door is normally closed so the magnet would normally be next to the switch when the door is shut.

Fixed My Problem

Weak magnets
The sensors are paired with weak magnets that will only work when mounted in a particular orientation. In the correct mounted orientation the profile looked at from the sides is a U. None of my installs allowed that orientation. I got it to work by using flat magnets from other brands.
