Industrial USB
This is great product for extending the number of ports. You can charge lower powered devices (not ipads etc) unless you provide extra power via the additional socket. I understand that it's really intended for industrial situations and can be mounted on a din rail but doesn't look out of place wall mounted in an office. It's very well made and works well. It comes with a cable to connect to the computer and a plug for the power socket - I've not used that part. Overall 5 star. It is however extremely expensive so you would really want it over anything else.

All plugged in and running nicely off this hub
I bought this Hub to power all my USB camera equipment for astronomy. So far, I've got 2 cameras, a filter wheel and a com port. That's a mixture of USB 2 and USB 3 devices. All plugged in and running nicely off this hub. The wide range of Input voltages means that I can power it from a leisure battery without having to worry about the exact voltage that I'm putting in. Expensive, but it's stable and seems to be reliable. (I can forget that it's there.) I'm planning on adding a USB GPS, and a USB hard drive at a later date. So 7 ports is perfect.

High quality and well built
This is a very well made and specified Hub. I would suggest opening the case & changing the lower board jumper from bus to external power. This will allow the hub to be freed from the constraints of bus power to using the connected PSU power. A number of low powered devices on the bus would not connect (perhaps an overload from many devices) but since this has been done the operation has been flawless. It would have suited my purpose to have been slightly shorter as I was fitting the hub into a case but other than that I have no complaints.

Top quality hub
It is an extremely reliable usb 3.0 hub with a steady 50 MB/s transfer of data between 2 WD passports. Supports ports with enough juice to load it up with mobile devices, disks, and game controllers. IT works on Windows 7, not sure about Mac

Very good product. 12v input power is must for my astrophotography setting. Delivers the quality as advertised.

I recommend this item if you need a real industrial grade performance. This item comes without a power adapter, which makes the perfect sense to me. For general purpose it works without a power adapter as usual passive USB HUB. To take advantage of the surge protection of this item you need to power it up. As described in the technical details you may use DC power supply from 7V to 48V, which obviously makes a difference in the cost, so the customer can choose the right one. I specifically needed an industrial grade of performance, as previously I had about a dozen of USB HUBs, but even a best one of them still "kicks out" some connected devices when I connect a Dual-Dock with 2 14GB disks in it. I bought power supply (DC 48 V, 3.5 V, 120 W). Following instructions - it took 20 minutes to connect power to this item. I am using this item for the first day, very intensively. So far - even under the extreme conditions, utilizing all 7 ports, including the Dual-Dock with 2 x 3.5" disks - no "kick outs". I bought another (4-port) StarTech.com 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub - for my other PC. Both HUBs work at industrial grade performance.

I just replaced an Anker 10-port hub with the StarTech 10-port hub after the Anker didn't work with my keyboard or Samsung T3 SSD. I'm happy to report that the StarTech works great with all my devices. The construction is extremely robust. USB insertion force and retention are good. I am using this as a desktop (table placed) hub rather than as a DIN mount. Of course aesthetically it is not designed nor advertised for this, but it was more important for me to have perfect functionality rather than aesthetics. I was concerned about the height, but it works fine. The product placement photo is a weird aspect ratio and the product looks higher than it actually is. Note that you need to provide your own power supply and that power supply needs to be rated for at least 100 W! I knew this before buying it, and had to chop up an old power supply and make my own cable to power the hub. Obviously I would rather just purchase a 10-port USB 3.0 hub that was designed for desktop use, but I couldn't find one that worked perfectly. All ports are rated at 1.5 A and I do have some devices that can charge at up to 2.1 A. With the cost of this unit and the hassle of making my own power supply I would have preferred that all ports could go up to 2.1 A. However, I'm still giving 5 stars because in this great world of consumer choice I not been able to find a functionally flawless USB 3.0 hub until now.

If you have a telescope with multiple pieces of gear that needs a USB connection, this is the most reliable hub I've found and continue to use. It is expensive, but rock-solid reliable. Several others I've tried failed to stay connected or connected equipment out of order, which is a disaster when specific port addresses are required for devices. This hub is connected to an indoor workstation 50 meters away, and performance has been very reliable. There is a smaller 5 port Star-Tech hub that I also recommend, but if you need more than 5 ports, then this is the way to go.

安価なUSBHUBばかり使用していましたが、接続不具合で作業中断が多発していました。この商品は、産業用なので、これに交換後は安定性抜群です。作業効率が格段に向上しました。
