Apple Smart Keyboard for iPad (7th Generation, 8th Generation, 9th Generation) and iPad Air (3rd Generation) - US English (Renewed)

I’ve had this keyboard for a couple months now and it works very well. I’m happy with it, especially since I don’t need to pay full price. The thing I like most is that it works with my waterproof iPad case (which I need because I apparently like to drop my iPad in the bath and spill coffee on it). It’s not a perfect fit with my case because it doesn’t stay magnetized but it’s good enough and covers the front when the case is closed.However, that’s not the real reason I bought the keyboard. I’m a nursing school student and I take notes on my iPad and only wanted an occasional keyboard so I could turn my iPad into a substitute laptop and this was just the thing I needed. I have written a couple of papers on it and saves me from bringing my laptop to school, thereby saving my back. When I want to write notes on my iPad for class, I just take the keyboard off or flip it around like a notebook cover. It magnetizes onto the side of my case fairly well and even if I dangle it, it won’t fall off. This is a solid product, and for me, well worth it.The keyboard is responsive with no lag. There’s no complicated connection process. It came with the original Apple box and legit looked new. Typing on it is quiet. The keys don’t have a lot of bounce but they’re responsive enough. They might be problematic if you have larger fingers but it’s just right for me and I find typing on it an ease. I can’t speak for how durable it is because I’ve only had it a few months, so I’m crossing my fingers that it will last me until the end of the year. I would recommend it to anyone in school who doesn’t want to bring an additional laptop, but still wants a keyboard on occasion so they can type on their iPad and increase the amount of work it can do.

After having one of these Apple keyboards for 4 years, my old one finally stopped connecting to my iPad. I ordered a different kind of keyboard and had problems managing it because I like to use my iPad in my lap while I watch TV. I gave up on the other brand and returned it. I found this smart keyboard for a cheaper price, simply because it was refurbished. I honestly cannot tell that it's refurbished-- looks and performs like a brand new one! Love it! It's so simple to use. I like the way it folds up easily and makes a great case. And, when I'm using it, it holds together on my lap or any other surface. I also like the keys-- I can type quietly without making a lot of mistakes.

This seems a lot better than newer keyboards for the iPad, as it's very lightweight and compact. So it retains the form factor of your iPad.

I love my kebyboard now, but I was very worried for a while. When I first purchased the keyboard it DID NOT WORK!! I thought I was doing something wrong. I chatted with customer service on Amazon to be sure I wasn’t doing anything wrong. My ipad just would not recognize the Keyboard. I cleaned the connection area off. I wiped of the connection area on the keyboard itself, but still nothing. They offered to refund my money which was fine with me, but as really wanted the keyboard to work. This is my second one. The first one tore apart. I was very upset. It only lasted a year. I am not sure what happened, but i decided to try it one last time before packing it up to send back, and somehow it started working!! I didn’t do anything different. It has worked fine ever since then! The keyboard itself is so convenient! It turns my ipad into a mini laptop, and I take it everywhere! It’s easy to use. I wish it was a little more durable though. It seems to tear apart on the ends easily. Maybe im too rough on it. I use it multiple times a day. It was a good buy for the price though.

Purchased for a 9th gen iPad and it works flawlessly! Came shrink-wrapped in factory Apple packaging and I think it's new old-stock, not just a generic refurbished returned item. I've used a few BT stand-alone fold up keyboards, but the convenience of this and tactile feel makes a world of difference. If you're used to a MB or MBA keyboard, you'll be able to just start using the Smart Keyboard without thinking.

Love it, love it, love it. This is what I bought for grad school in 2020 and I wanted a second one before they stopped making them. I had no idea that there where types that had to use bluetooth just to connect the keyboard. Not this one. Bluetooth makes my head hurt so I appreciate this being available. It just connects by magnetic strip, the keys are crisp.

I just received this today but I've been typing a lot on it and so far, so good. It's in great condition and looks like new. It's surprisingly easy to use for a small laptop, but I don't have large hands so maybe that's it. I love how it makes my iPad more versatile as I'm not a fan of typing on the screen. A TIP: It did not connect right away even though the placement was correct. I tried a number of times and wondered if the keyboard was defective. So, following some advice I got, while the keyboard was still connected to my iPad, I turned my iPad on and off and voila--it worked!
