FUN
It's not as easy to focus as anyone would like but it's not difficult. Once you get the hang of it, you'll appreciate what this little thing can do. And if you're the kind of person who likes to play around, photographing everyday stuff then there is a big chance that you will come to love this lens. It's far from perfect but that is exactly what makes this Diana+ lens a joy to use.

great shots, doesnt work great with the adaptor for Nikon DSLR.
Its great when it stays on the camera with the adapter, but i can get it to stay on my Nikon D600, I only kept it on the chance I might be getting a lomography camera one day. Wont be trying it again on my DSLR. It probably works great as it is intended without the adapter.

I like this lens
I like this lens, I just wish that it would come with an adapter. Instead of having to purchase one separately

Sharp little lens.
Since buying this lens, I've tested it with film and it's a great little lens. You still get the Diana effect but the center is sharp and I like that sometimes. Great for printing bigger enlargements.

Worth the price if you're willing to do the work
Not a bad price to pay for a 75mm lens that's rich in color and soft in bokeh. It has minimal functions, and as a result, is extremely light. only 0.9 ounces for the lens, 0.5 for the Canon adapter. There is no auto-focus and no ability to set an aperture. And as previously mentioned, the focus ring is very small. Surprisingly I've managed to keep my fingers out of the frame, but this is something that could be improved from a design standpoint... although I believe the thinking is you set the focus ring on one of the distance markers (1m, 2m, 4m, infinity), and move yourself for finer adjustments. I have a tough time with the manual focus though and end up with lots shots that are just a touch blurry. Also interesting is that since the aperture is not adjustable, there are no aperture blades. This could have some interesting results with night shots with street lights, etc.The Diana + is really intended for the Diana camera. The adapters will make it work with other cameras, but bear in mind that if you have a cropped sensor (Canon Rebels or other consumer lines), you will lose the vignetting effect that is part of what makes this lens unique. No big deal if you have Photoshop or other editing software to add it after the fact, but if this was part of the appeal to this lens for you, you should be aware that you'll only see the vignette effect if you have a full frame sensor.Pros:-Rich, vibrant colors-Sharp detail, IF you can get the focus right-Nice, soft bokeh-Extremely light weight (1.4 ounces with adapter)-Simple to operate-Very low price for the picture qualityCons:-Not for the casual photographer-Size and placement of focus ring makes manual focus difficult, move yourself closer/further for finer adjustments-Adapter has no rear lens cover, so to avoid dust entering the lens you'll need to remove it from the adapter after use

Sharp simple lens
I'm new to the whole "lo-fi" thing, and in-fact I tend to like a fair bit of clarity in my images. I was intrigued by this lens being somewhere between toy and tool, so I picked up the lens and a Nikon adapter from photojojo. My first images can be seen on flickr, with this added on to the end of the URL: /photos/rick020200/sets/72157639206424953/I understand that Diana cameras are not "through the lens" focusing, but this lens, with its "premium glass" marketing, and the availability of the Canon and Nikon mount adapters make me think these are being marketed to people like me. I wanna play, but I don't want every shot to be "artistically" out of focus. So that being said, I was surprised at what a pain it is to focus this lens. The little ring on the inside of lens body is tough to rotate, and is impossible to adjust while composing the image. I really think this lens could be a lot more enjoyable to use if there was a focus ring on the body. The other negative is that the minimum focus distance is over 3 feet. Given the simplicity of the design, I'd love to see it focus closer. That's enough of the negatives. On the plus side, it really is a pretty crisp lens. If you focus with your head (move it back and forth after estimating the focus distance on the ring) you can obtain some pretty nice shots. The other positive for me is the ability to easily remove the lens (but not the adapter) and 'free-lens' to get closer focus or selective focus a la lens baby.

Great lens!
Got this lens when I realized I wasn't 100% thrilled with my Diana F+ images. I am all for lo fi and lomo but they were just overall a bit too soft for me. So, I got this lens and it made such a difference. It's much sharper while still maintaining that lo fi feel & look. It's super easy if I want to switch lenses for any reason. Worth the price, love the results!
