The clips are for clipping plant stems to the cages to keep them growing upright.twist ties are for securing plants, vines, shrubs and flowers to trellis, stakes, or other supports.They work great!

Q: Are these sturdy enough for beef steak tomatoes?

I live in the Houston area and planted cherry and creole tomatoes into a planter about 14” deep. Bothe are VERY large plants 6-8w’ high. That is not deep enough with the wind we get. I created an elaboarate roping system and will get throungh this year but need to rethink next year.
