Probably my misunderstanding
I don't consider these buckles, as in, I cannot put one piece on the left-end and one piece on the right-end of a fanny pack belt and buckle them together around my waist. That is what I needed, that is not what these are. I received them promptly in perfect condition, but not going to give 5 stars since I could not use them for whatever purpose they are intended so cannot judge them in that context, the only fair context. I still have no idea what they are for. A little more explanation in the description would have been welcome.

Snapped first time I put a load on it
I chose these metal buckles because I thought they'd be stronger than the heavy-duty nylon buckles I've always used before. The metal seems thin and cheap and a crosspiece snapped and went flying the first time I put a heavy load on it. Lucky I didn't lose an eye.

Not heavy duty!
I keep buying these because there doesn’t seem tobe a stronger alternative on the market. All of them snap at the same place when under load. Not heavy duty to match the load properties of a 2” strap.

They have a smooth and shiny appearance but don't let that fool you
They still hold up to being used on a belt or in this case on a fanny pack as I purchased this brand for this reason; replaced the standard polymer for these zinc ones. By far I'm assured these are more affixed and effective since adding then to my pack

Baseball cap perfection !!
I hate those plastic snaps on the back of the baseball caps . I purchased these and cut some leather straps …. Sewed the straps down with these inside…. Works perfect!

Definitely heavy duty
I used this on a ctug kayak cart. I also replaced the the plastic buckle with a metal one. I needed one of these to do it. Now it's better than new

Great replacement.
I had a plastic one on my bike panniers. To be fair the original one was almost 10 years old when it broke but I sewed this one on the bag and it worked like a charm.
