I keep one at my daughters home. Her sofa sits low to the ground and is very soft. This helpful too lets me get off the sofa with ease.

My husband has a hard time getting up from a deep, soft sofa. Using this, he pops right up and it’s no effort on my part. To get someone up, think of a row motion. You’re pulling your hands quickly back against your ribs as if you were using an exercise machine to row.

If the patient has trouble with their body (legs are weak, back is weak), the weight is compounded in lifting them up. I find in lifting my husband great difficulty; maybe easier than using my hands, but still hard. Thought it would help, but almost as hard as using my hands. I don't have the strength to do it. The video is deceiving. Makes it look far more easier than it is.

Got my elderly friend into my motor home up three high steps easily. Use it all the time now...I'm 5'3" and 135 and can easily get my challenged friends up off the couch and up a few steps with no problem even with my newly fused back. I'm impressed with this device.

This is great for someone who has trouble getting up alone or sore arthritic wrist and hands you don’t want someone trying to grab your hands this is so much nicer to hold onto let someone pull you up when you need up
