Great alternative to rain pants.
Used it for a summer as a backpacking guide. Much more useful (and breathable) than rain pants in my opinion. Super convenient to hike in and keep your butt dry when you have a seat. Overall great product.

Pretty good in normal situations
The media could not be loaded. I think in normal situations this is a great solution, but wind changes the scenario. When we were on Mount Washington, NH the wind created a Marylin Monroe scenario and we got soaked. The material just flapped like a flag. I would definitely pair this with gators. The 4 stars are to alert of the way to approach using this product and plan appropriate. This remains in my kit.

does what is says on the tin
This worked well on the one day I really needed it on a recent backcountry trip. I even got a compliment from a passing backpacker. So if you like dry thighs and bit of social interaction, definitely get this very rarely used but occasionally very necessary gizmo here for cheap rather than the ever so slightly lighter but absurdly expensive boutique competitors. The cinch and closure system and the length were nice too, as an aside.

UL substitute for rain pants
Weight 2.2oz/65 g, without the little stuff sack. Material is silnylon or similar, very light, rip-stop. The waist band is more sturdy nylon. It has a nylon webbing belt and buckle, in addition to a generous length of Velcro, to hold it in place. With my 31" waist, there's ample overlap to keep typical rain off my thighs -- and enough material to wrap around a much larger middle. It's going with me on my next thru hike.

Severely undersized
Drastically too small for the claimed waist size. The product looked/felt decently constructed for a particularly small individual (guessing near women's small?), however. I have a 36" waist, and the velcro closure fits well; the problem is that there is so little material present that my entire front is exposed. There should be enough for at least a few inch overlap when taking a step. I purchased this for myself based on the sizing claims, but I'll keep it if my daughter can make it work for now and grow into it (girls #8), but otherwise it's going back.

It works, light, easy to pack.
Will keep you dry. Wear gaiters with it and your feet and boots stay dry.

Works but Designed for thinner folks
I have a 35/36" waist. This was just on the edge of being too small. I'm using it over thin hiking pants with a web belt and I could just get it buckled over. That said it worked great for hours of hiking in the rain. No issues with condensation. Small enough to wad into any pocket if the rain stops. Long enough to keep thighs and knees dry without picking up splashed mud from the ground.
