I LOVE this stuff -- IT WORKS!
I LOVE this stuff. It really works. I've had Dit Da Jow on hand ever since I used to study Wing Chun when I was in my 20s and 30s (a very long time ago, ha!). Well, I had a pulled muscle in my arm which was hurting, and I slapped some of this on it, and it just turned that pain right off for the whole rest of the day. The next day, I didn't use it, arm was fine. Third day (today), it was starting to act up again (since I was still going about my life and using the arm when I probably should have given it a break, pulled muscle and all), and I put a little more of this Dit Da Jow on it and bam! Stopped hurting. There are plenty of different brands around with various ingredients (I even have some other brands on hand), but this is the one I grabbed and IT WORKED. So I'm sticking with it. Love the stuff. I ordered a couple more bottles to make sure I always have it on hand. (It lasts for a long time!) I've never had any relief from Arnica products. But this Dit Da Jow? Works wonders on me. Very happy. I also love that this one is MADE IN THE USA and has no toxic chemicals or fragrance crap in it, and it comes in a glass bottle. Doesn't get any better than that. As a side note, I love the way it smells from the herbs in it. It's probably the Dong Quai -- I've always LOVED the smell of Dong Quai. Maybe not everybody does, but I love it. But it doesn't stink, i.e., I doubt others would be able to smell it on you. After you put it on and it dries, you'd pretty much have to stick your body part right up to your nose to smell it at all, and even then, after a little while, you can't smell it at all. So don't worry about the smell even if you don't like it -- it dissipates rapidly.

Excellent natural pain reliever
I work out a lot, so I have my fair share of muscle pain. I love natural products, as opposed to the chemicals of other products. My acupuncturist recommended this to me. This has a bit of a smell, so I wouldn't use it and then go out (will make your clothes smell a bit too). I use it before I go to bed. It will seem like it's not a thick enough liquid - that's fine - I just use multiple layers. You have to REALLY rub it in and you'll feel a nice warm feeling in your muscles about 30 minutes after you use it. One thing: WASH YOUR HANDS AFTER USING. Trust me. Do not touch your eyes, nose, mouth, open wounds or nether regions. It will not feel good.

Absolutely fantastic product
I practice on the Muk Jong and do daily arm conditioning and can safely say that this stuff makes a big difference in my recovery. I don't think I could do nearly the volume or intensity if I didn't have this on hand. it relieves pain and makes quick recovery of bruises. The bottle will last anywhere between 1-3 months depending on the amount you use and the frequency, so price per use is solid too. Highly recommend for martial artists or people who either bruise frequently/easily. 10/10

but I do wonder if it should be aged longer like one reviwer mentioned
Got earlier than expected. Trying it out to see how it helps my right hand. Been having a sharp pain for a while. Haven't seen any huge results...yet. but I do wonder if it should be aged longer like one reviwer mentioned. There's a date on mine... Is this a bad thing or a good thing? Still new to this kind of product.

Works well
I've also used this for martial arts training. In conjunction with the plum dragon bruise juice. These both do what they're said to do. Aid in recovery. I like the smell of this one better but it's not for initial painful and swollen injuries. This Ho family jow can feel quite hot once it's been applied, especially if you start working out afterwards.

Only active ingredient is Capsaicin
This product is promoted as 'Chinese herbs that are used in traditional Chinese Medicine', indicating ingredients NOT used in traditional western medicine. First, only Active, ingredient? Capsaicin, that is in just about all the topical analgesics on the shelf. Yes, it doesn't smell like BenGay or Icy Hot, but I should have read the actual label before ordering. I've only applied it 4 times so far and, for me, NONE of the swelling has gone down. NONE of the nerve pain is any better. I will use it for the proscribed 1 week and then re-evaluate. But I think all the company promotions conveniently left the part about capsaicin out, thereby tricking us into thinking it was primarily Chinese Herbs. I fee like I've been had. There was another site I looked at for the same product and it was a pile of herbs that you add to alcohol and age it yourself. I think I'll try that. For the moment, tho, I have inflammation, swelling and pain that I was hoping this 'liniment' would help calm down and now I doubt it will.

Smells nice, rubs in quick- but basically feels like I'm ...
Nothing... tried it for two days now and absolutely...nothing. Not any warmth, not any tingling, NO sensation at all. Smells nice, rubs in quick- but basically feels like I'm rubbing some watered down alcohol based product on. I have tried the real thing- when at a Chinese martial arts school in Northeast PA, and I KNOW how different it felt, heck, even had a stronger smell. Any bruising from wing chun practice was nearly gone the next day with the school's formula- not sure what this stuff is. I do see verified purchase reviews with five stars, so also not sure what the heck I got?? I can only assume that they're maybe not aging this stuff enough, or skimping on herbs/ingredients. Either way, I'm off to find another product to try. If that doesn't work, I'll have to make my own and wait on the aging process. Damn.
