Little Busters Refrain [Blu-ray]

“Little Busters! Refrain” is aptly named. Consider the word “refrain.” It is both a verb and a noun. Each definition applies to the events of this season. But I don’t recommend you check the dictionary until after you’ve watched the 13 episodes.If you loved “Little Busters!” Season 1, if it made you feel happy, if you really connected with the characters and immersed yourself in their stories, then I recommend you watch it twice through before seeing “Refrain.”And then prepare yourself for a very different experience.“Little Busters! Refrain” is every bit as good as its predecessor. The quality, animation, story, music, voice actors … they’re all top line. But the tone is drastically changed … for a reason: The show finally reveals “the secret to this world.” And it may not be what you were expecting.It pulled the show right out from underneath me. The final reveal actually left me wide-eyed and slack-jawed for a minute. And then the tears came … on and off for the next two episodes.In my review for “Little Busters!” Season 1, I said I had waited many years for a special anime series to come along. The last one that moved me to tears was “Kanon,” another Key studio anime.If you’re satisfied with the overall happy world of “Little Busters!” Season 1, then stick with that. There’s nothing wrong with liking just that.But if you want the full story, warts and all, then dive into “Little Busters! Refrain” and let it consume you. I hope it guts your emotions as it did mine. Then you’ll have gotten the full experience … and your money’s worth.

I really hoped to score Blu-Ray copies of Little Busters series, but it seems I was too late. The only option left to me was to buy the DVDs (and suffer the screen resolution of 480P in 2022… Either that, or succumb to the way of ye olde piracy, which I try hard not to).Still, the show was a blast. The anime is a good way of reminiscing the original VN, and revisit all the emotions within.Given that both the DVDs and BDs have not been restocked for quite a long time(…yes, I’ve had my eyes on both of them for some time), it would be wise to grab ‘em while they last.

I knew something was up the entire time but I never expected the twist that happened at the end of this season. But they pulled another twist after that twist which made it easier to swallow. This one started out as a happy go lucky easy going show and gradual became more serious and emotional and it peaked in a big way. I loved the first couple episodes cause it starred my favorite, Kurugaya. But then she kinda faded which hurt it overall, and it also began to get confusing and I was thinking I wasn’t going to like it but it came together and was a good surprising ending to the show. Or at least to the main story.

Little Busters Refrain is the sequel to Little Busters. Do NOT watch Refrain if you have not finished the first season, it is not the kind of anime where you can start watching at any time. That being said for those who watched the first season and are wondering whether or not they should watch season two, the answer is yes, you should. Had I rated Little Busters! just off of season 1 I probably would have only given the series 3.5 out of 5 stars, however, after watching Refrain I would rate the entire series as 5 stars. Watching refrain will make you look at the events of season 1 in a completely different way. Also, beware that after watching a few episodes of Refrain, you will not want to stop until the end, it is that good.

Deceptive anime, starts out as a gentle slice of life, then evolves into an action packed sci fi thriller. Do Riki and Rin have what it takes to survive the friendship of the Little Busters? All is revealed in the final episodes.

Beyond exceptional wrap to an already exceptional series. I don't believe a single thing could have been done differently to improve Refrain. I was floored...and so happy to have added the series to my ever-expanding collection.

好きなアニメなので買いました。

内容に関しては文句なしです。まぁ、ファンなので当然ですね（＾＾；国コードがあるのでこれをクリアできる環境でないとみることができません。私はパソコンで国コード無関係の環境を作ってそれで見ているので特に問題はありませんでした。ただし、字幕はPower DVDでは消えませんでした。他でどうかは試していないのでわかりません。コストパフォーマンス的には最近の北米版がかつてほど安くはないので以前と比べれば落ちますが、それでもまぁまぁかな、と。もう少し安いか字幕が消せればとりあえず☆を４～５つける感じかな、と思いました。
