This penn battle 3 5000 is a top top reel, smooth retrieve and fast casting into wind not a problem (no line twists) Will never use another maker again. Absolutely brilliant On a 9 ft penn spinning rod for big pollock ect. 👏🎣

Not only looks great, but feels great too. Very smooth and also powerful. Feels like it could survive a nuclear explosion. Very happy with this reel.

Quality reel

This reel is brilliant and when spooled up and working it is a fantastic reel as expected from Penns Battle platform.WORTH NOTING: Instructions didnt indicate the reel handle is opposite thread (screws in anti clockwise) this is obvioulsly not an issue once figured out but should be noted in the instructions.Had an issue with the spare washers which instructions say to use the thicker washer supplied to avoid line spooling unevenly on the spool itself. Once the thicker of the two washers is installed the drag system doesnt work at all as it is sitting on the thick washer and standing too high for the teeth to engage the drag needle on the spool thus resulting in some horrible crunching sounds when testing the drag. Changed back to the original thin washer and works fine but does spool line slightly uneven.

Bought for general sea fishing, have used in Floriday for snook, snapper and redfish and in this country for lure fishing for pollock and bass. Been impressed, would recommend.

Not sure why this is on my review list. I as of today 8/7/2024, haven't received it yet. However, I already have one and I've yet to see a bad review of this spinning reel. You won't go wrong with this reel.

I've had a lot of reels over the years, but this beats them all for build quality and super value for the price bracket, first time owning a Penn reel (battle 111 3ooo). Any more reels I buy, it will be a Penn.EXCELLENT.
