I have read other reviews of this brand mentioning that set up is initially frustrating. For myself, sticking the rods and velcro cover on the softbox was fine. However, I needed a strobe adapter, so on the first few tries I Macguyvered it to fit and be stable.The actual projection from the softbox is very pleasing. It is a little big so the light spreads pretty soft and even.I got this pretty cheap so my expectations weren't that high. The softbox does a fantastic job of diffusing light. The build quality of the adapter and rods seem decent, but there is a little stretching at the seams of the softbox. I am worried that it could become an issue after rigorous usage.

Before buying this softbox (and 5 others by ePhoto), I read the reviews where people complained about the corners tearing from the rods. To avoid this, I cut some small pieces of heavy canvas from an old dropcloth and glued them onto each corner with contact cement as reinforcements. I have set up and tore down these softboxes many, many times and have never had a tearing problem.

I'm not sure this softbox will stand up to long term use, but it should be perfect for someone that just uses it ocasionally

I just received this softbox today. For all intents and purposes it will serve me well. From opening the pouch to fully assembled took less than 5 minutes. It has a very intuitive design and easy to put together. The only reason I give it a 4 is because the material quality is good, but not the best. I would not recommend regular assembly and disassembly (daily). This softbox disperses light evenly and is a good buy. I will be ordering another one.
