I absolutely love the portable painters. I have the larger version too. They are perfect for plein air painting and traveling. I use both. They are compact, lightweight and fit perfectly in whatever bag I use. The micro is very sturdy and great for quick paintings on location, or to bring on outdoor adventures.

As other reviews have stated, this palette is little, that is why I bought it. I want a small palette that I could take everywhere and wasn’t cumbersome so that I would take it places. This thing is great!!! I have used it almost everyday since I got it. You have to choose your colors wisely and learn color mixing. It is a great design and well executed. I am throughly enjoying it!

I've tried several kits to have on hand while walking/traveling and this is by far the smallest, lightest and best designed. I carry it with me almost everywhere now.

I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the little portable paint pallette. It's very well made from a good quality plastic which should resist breakage under most situations. The unit is quite small when closed up but opens into a reasonable size. It should work great if you're traveling or if you just want a simple acrylic paint setup for a quick project at home. Nicely done and of surprisingly high quality.

I have the original Portable Painter palette and I absolutely love it! So when the micro portable painter came out I had to buy it. It is perfect! Small enough to pop in your pocket if you are out hiking or just going out in the world and you want to paint plein air. It’s perfect for the painter in your life. I am so excited to have this Micro Palette along with the regular-sized Portable Painter Palette that arrived last week! This is a high quality item and will provide years of use. The paint wells are solidy stable and NOT loose like other famous makers of palettes with or without paints. The solid planning that went into the manufacturing of this item and the larger one, are evident from the moment you feel it and see how it easily, yet snugly fits together. I love the underneath finger stabilizer that you put between two fingers and then instantly forget its even there. This make is so perfect to angle or turn your palette to suit your desire to mix the paint closer to you. Hope that makes sense. Usually, I hold it in one direction but then when wishing to use a different area of mixing, instead of taking a change of dripping water, I turn my hand or the angle I'm holding it all. Very versatile and a great buy. If you really want to thrill yourself and be rid of lots of gear, get the larger Portable Painter Palette that comes with two water wells and hold lots of paints. OMG! I love it. Keep painting!

Love the little travel container. Works perfect for me to take all I need. Make sure to give a vigorous scrubbing to the trays with baking soda and an old toothbrush before using paint or it beads up like heck.

I travel fast and light. No time or space to be lugging things around. With this micro pallet all you need is some tubes of paint to fill it. After the paints dry a few days you need a travel brush or water brush, your sketch book and the bottle of water you just happen to be drinking. Instant art. I love how this little baby folds up so small you can tuck it into the smallest bag or a pocket. The bag it comes with will hold a da Vinci travel brush, some paper towels and the pallet. The little tab at the bottom that folds out means you won’t drop the pallet in a busy train station or popular tourist spot. Plenty of blending space. A little water tank that doubles as the outer shell when put away. This is the coolest design.
