sturdy, solid
Very well built, sturdy, solid. No metal to rust. I have had similar compostors that did not last because they were poorly engineered, thin plastic and weak connections. This unit, while a little pricey, is a solid unit that should last many years.

Wrong Item shipped
I thought this composter was made by Juwel. They shipped me the another product made by WIBO, which is not like the one shown in this picture. Mine was made by another company from Germany. It was made with very thin plastic, worst then the $39.00 garbage can. It was very hard to put together. I still could not install the cover bracket. It was not made in Austria by Juwel. I will have return this item. Buyers beware!

Nice compost bin
This bin is just fine for continuous composting, i.e. adding stuff over time. The tapering shape and smallish top door makes is difficult to turn anything inside, so if you are seeking a bin that can be easily turned for a hot compost pile this is not the one for you. It is very sturdily constructed and does quite well for our household of two. I have composted grass clippings, household vegetable waste, various paper products like paper towel cardboard rolls, and shredded leaves successfully. The smaller pieces you make the stuff going in the faster it will decompose. Holds moisture pretty well in our high-desert climate, but does need to be watered every so often to be kept damp.

Wrong product sent twice.
This product must be skewed wrong at amazon’s warehouse. We were sent the wrong one twice. We ended up buying it at Home Depot. Easy to put together. Sturdy. Very happy with the product.

We are really disappointed.
This is a really defective product that is definitely not worth the price. The hinges keep coming off and we have had to wire the bin to keep it together. We are really disappointed.

Mostly good composter
If you are considering this compost bin because of raccoon problems you will be disappointed. (If only they could use their intelligence and incredible dexterity towards good!) I decided to take a chance because one of the descriptions actually mentioned "raccoons" by name. It took them all of one night to figure out how to unlatch the lid. However for the last week at least I am the victor. Using eye bolts and brass clips I secured the lid and bottom doors in a way that allows me to open and close them with one hand but that the raccoons have not been able to master. Now the positives. The unit is very thick and sturdy plastic compared to many. The design is simple and it was easy to assemble which is good since the instructions are rudimentary. It is large enough to get the mass needed to create heat although I do not know yet if the fancy spacers in the walls actually make a difference in its efficiency and I hope it will work well in cold weather as the description seems to suggest. As with all composters I am sure a knowledge of composting principles is necessary for good results and the unit does not come with much instruction for its use.I thought I would add a follow-up. After almost a year I am very happy with the compost bin. During one of the worst winters we have had in the mid-west in years it stayed relatively hot - there was enough decomposing going on that it always seemed to stay at about the same level. We will see if now that the weather is warming if it really gets HOT but that will also depend on a correct mixture. The raccoons have also given up, so my changes to the lids have solved that problem.I said earlier this is the 77 - no mine IS the 110 - sorry!!

Totally not bear proof
Easy to put together. Easy for bear to take apart — even with a cement block on top. Total waste of money.

Old ladies can put this together
This composter was simple for me to put together in spite of few directions. Time will tell how it works!
