Halo Headband Solar Sun-Protective Skull Cap and Tail

Worth It. Rode the Paris TX 80 mile with it in 94 temps.. Wasn't too hot and kept my heqd, neck and ears from getting sunburned. Fits fine under the helmet. Kept the sweat out of my eyes. If you hate sunburns or constantly applying sunblock, give this a shot.

Meets expectations, very efficient sun protection in sensitive aereas( neck) and uniq sweat direction system.

One more item of cycling clothing to wear to keep the sun off of me. It does work to keep the sun off the head no prob under the helmet. The sweat Channel seems to work pretty good too haven't had sweat drip into my eyes yet. The main reason I purchased it though is to keep sun off the back of my neck, that works well enough but the sides still do get some when it gets windy. That said I do like it and continue to wear it instead of just a regular head beanie.

This is my third Halo headband purchase, as I also have a Halo II headband and a Halo skullcap. I am a pretty heavy sweater and take long bike rides, and the Halo skullcap and this Halo Solar Headwear work in keeping the sweat out of my eyes and off my sunglasses. I wear it so the the black headband is right over my eyebrows - as low as possible. I rarely have sweat bother me anymore. I really like the additional sun protection of the Solar Headwear, giving my neck just bit more protection. I use this when I take rides lasing more than a couple hours for the additional protection. The downside is my fellow riders asking me why I'm sporting a white cape under my helmet. This "cape" also doesn't do much sun protecting when riding quickly and I still apply sunscreen on the back of my neck. As others have pointed out, the headband does leave a slight indentation on your forehead that is not at all noticeable unless looking in a mirror. It does not irritate, hurt, itch or otherwise annoy me when riding, and even is unnoticeable under my helmet. But, the line does take a bit of time to disappear. I do wish that the Solar Headwear had the ties like the Halo skullcap does, making it a bit more adjustable, but it seems to fit pretty good regardless. I have a 7 7/8 hat size. Overall, I recommend it to anyone looking to keep the sweat out of their eyes and the sun off their neck.

Ordered this with the anticipation that perhaps it wouldn't work for me and I'd end up returning it. But it works great - better than I expected so definitely keeping it. I like that it is super light weight and covers my head and serves as both some sun protection and, best of all, absorbs/wicks sweat and keeps it out of my face. Sometimes wear it when hiking in the mountains and the flap/tail keep sun off my neck and keeps mosquitos, flies and gnats from trying to get into my ears. Might give this a try when playing basketball outdoors on a sunny day sometime as well. I also really like the stark white color with the contrasting front black headband area. Looks pretty sharp.

I hate the sun. I hate being sunburned, the sun just striking my skin makes me sweat, and I survived one type of cancer and have no desire to take a chance with skin cancer. At the same time, I'm a cyclist and occasional runner and so I'm out in the sun a lot. I used to put a handkerchief under my hat to cover my neck and part of my face, but this product works much better! The cap is a one-size-fits-all. I wear 7.25 and the cap is a bit snug. Doesn't help that I've got a bike helmet tightened over it, but I wish it was a little looser. Overall, though, it's a good buy and highly recommend for keeping the sun off your neck and the sides of your face.

i bought this for scalp and neck sun protection under my bicycle helmet. i should have read more about the halo products. inside theres a rubber/plastic strip, fairly thick - that is intended to be a sweat channel of sorts. for me it just left a large divot in my forehead. otherwise the fit, weight and spf rating is appreciated. i wish they made these without the rubber thing. not too hot in direct sun where i live (warmer sunnier summers commonly above 100 degrees fahrenheit). does block sun on my neck quite well.

Best thing I bought before my first Spartan races. I wore this in Temecula, and couldn't be happier with how it kept my (bald) head and neck shaded, plus kept me cool as well. The material wicks well, wasn't a hindrance at all in the water/mud (Temecula is a relatively dry race, only went under the water twice), and it cleaned up nice. I'll be wearing this in the Vegas Super next month! I was able to put my Spartan band (with my race number) over the black part of the headband, and it fit well, wasn't too tight or too hot at all, and the wicking band in the front actually did keep sweat out of my face during the first race. My second race was on a rainy, cold day, but I wore this that day as well, and it acted as a rain/wind guard and kept my head warmer as well. Highly, highly recommend if you need something to shade your head yet keep you cool as well. I'd buy another one if they had some other colors (Halo does have other colors for the caps, but I only found white for this one with the neck shade).

This the 4th I’ve bought. I have used it on cycling tours of Cambodia, three in Vietnam and another in Thailand. I also use i when I commute from work, especially when it’s extreme heat. You can soak it in cold water, wring it out, and it will keep you head and brain cool. Eventually, the rubber sweat channel comes adrift from the material. I’ve just applied some thin superglue to one, to increase its lifespan. For me, the sweat channel is mandatory. I took two of these on my recent 2000km tour of Vietnam; they were essential kit in the hot humid sun. These caps prevent neck and ear sunburn, keep the sweat out of your eyes, and as I mentioned, cool your head when soaked. I currently have three of them—that’s how important they are to me. Warning - wash by hand only.

This is the best head wear I have ever bought and I have tons of beanies, skull caps, hats, etc... for out door activities as I am balding and active. This beanie/neck cover is absolutely amazing as it keeps the sweat out of my eyes which is a huge issue for me since balding due to me being a heat pump and an expert at sweating. The rubber strip inside keeps the sweat on the material which wicks it away very quickly while drying just as fast. I like the fact that it also has a neck cover as I don't like to use sunscreen on my neck and ears while this provides perfect protection from the sun for those spots and my balding head. Some people say they feel weird looking like Laurence of Arabia in this thing, but I think it looks good. Also, something I didn't consider when buying it is that it absolutely rocks for virtual reality. I have a game called BoxVR which is a workout game and I sweat so badly that even my other expensive sweat wicking skull cap with a band gets so drenched that sweat gets into my eyes and in the headset when I workout in it. This does noot happen with this product because of the specific design. So, if you have sweat problems in VR this is also the best product for dealing with that problem. All in all it is more than worth the price compared to all the cheaper alternatives and I would rather once of these than a bunch of other ones for cheaper because nothing does what this does as well as it does! 100% worth the price. I will probably buy another one shortly.

En lo personal sudo muchísimo y esta banda me ayudo a la perfección. Cubre de una manera excelente el sol ennla nuca y orejas, y si la con viñas con tu gorra favorita por encima tendrás cobertura total contra el sol y la sudoración. La tela es muy fresca y suave y fácil de lavar. La medida es universal pero cabe mencionar que soy talla L/XL de gorras NewEra y esta banda me quedo Super cómoda.

Something is seriously wrong with this product design!!! It sinks when falling in the water, instead of floating. I lost it the first time I used it.
