Great quality, but metric bolts? Really? I guess since that's my only complaint they aren't really that bad.

Even after saltwater usage they are working great. You can read my review at https://jetboaters.net/threads/what-retractable-transom-strap-do-you-recommend.6089/#post-104476

When tight, crazy hard to release if it does at all!
Ok, so I have had these installed on my trailer for a season and a half of boating. Initially loved them, but after time when boat is tied down and buckles tight they lock up bad and will not release! Obviously the whole point is to ratchet down tight. I literally had to cut one of the straps to get the boat off my trailer. That was last year, I bought another brand to replace that one and left this reese on the other side... well at the lake yesterday and go figure... it would not release. This time I brought the socket and wrench to remove the whole assembly so that I didnt have to tow my boat unsafely with only one working ratchet. Sad a name like Reese and the price of these things they don't do what they're supposed to. If It was like 5 years or even 3 years without a problem I would not have gave it a bad review but here I am. Buy at your own risk.Installed on trailer with a 20ft inboard/outboard open bow sea ray.LOOK ELSEWHERE!!

Reliable and easy to use
Excellent design fits perfectly on my ezloaader trailer, I don’t need to drill extra holes I installed it for less than five minutes.

Look Good...Price is Right
They installed easily on my trailer. While they seem to tighten adequately, they don't have the same feel that the cheap ratcheting straps do (like you could keep cranking on them until something breaks). As long as they keep the boat firmly attached to the trailer, they will suit me just fine. Especially since they were considerably cheaper than the big name brand. If they remain looking new after a year of use, I'll have to update my rating.
