Woodcrafter's Dream
Mine came with a rough sanded handle witch provides great grip. The belly is shallow to the tip making fine cuts easy and accurate just short of a dedicated carving knife. It's RAZOR sharp (requiring frequent stropping if carving for long periods). I've made to walking sticks out of semi seasoned Ash (cured Ash is pretty tough for small work). I did a horse head on one and a cork screw design on another. I was surprised by the control with the long-ish blade length. Not suitable for hard woods as these Scandi edges tend to roll in hard push cuts in hard woods. Don't baton with it (or any knife, you Neanderthals) but certainly use it for nearly any camp task you can think of. This is a long lasting tool if used properly. This is a typical softer carbon steel from the region where they're made, but quality none the less. Most steel snobs are going to bash it but those guys are posers topically (you can tell who they are by the Paracord bracelets and their stories of many survival adventures....... at the mall).

Sharp but rough.
Blade sides and back appear to be as came from forge. Rough and unfinished as was the handle. Very sharp. Blade very prone to rust. Sheath was very good quality. Good utility knife. Not a true Scandinavia grind.

A More Expensive Mora but with a much better sheath and handle.
The title kind of tells the whole story. This is my favorite Puuko in this price range, probably my favorite bushcraft knife in general. My Condor Kephart comes close, it's more durable, but doesn't approach Marttiini's mirror finish scandi grind or the Lynx's comfortable handle. The handle and sheath in my eyes makes the Lynx worth the extra money compared to a Mora, and while it's not as heavy duty as a Condor Bushlore or Kephart, it carves much better.Don't baton or chop with this knife. Don't. Carve, skin, feather, slice, etc, but don't treat this like a BK2 or something. This is a lightweight traditional Puuko, when paired with a saw and an axe, you won't need another bushcraft knife. It's rustic, as in the handle is rough but comfortable and it has an uneven patina above the mirror finish edge. Delicious.

Amazing knife, but not the one in the picture
The knife is perfect. It is original as far as I can tell. However the knife I received is not the model advertised. The handle is a bit different and the blade a bit shorter. I used to own the same model on the description, so I can tell.

Excellent
Great product, and it came far quicker than expected. 10/10 would buy from seller again.

Very unhappy... One star is a generous rating
I don't know who gave this unfinished, poorly crafted excuse for a knife 5 stars, but they obviously have never handled a real marttiini... the blade is only half finished, with the face not sanded or polished at all and no engraving or marking at all... the handle is off center and also unfinished, poorly stained with no varnish. Just poor craftsmanship all around. It seems impossible to me that this could even be a genuine marttiini knife... I didn't want a knife I'd have to finish myself, so I'll be returning it.

It's an amazing knife!
It's an amazing knife!!.. the perfect size to be an edc fixed blade. Scary razor sharp out of the box. True scandi grind, leather sheat, a really traditional Finnish puukko. For those who complained about the rough finish of the knife, let me tell you that the finish reflect the true spirit of a work knife like this puukko. Just love my marttiini puukko..

How big are YOUR hands ?
Fairly sharp out of the box, needed some work. The wood handle must be designed for small handed folks. Not a good.fit for bigger hands. Coating on spine needs to be removed to properly spark a ferro rod. Timberjack model much better for bigger hands
