What is the difference between this product and Simply Saline Adult Nasal Mist, Allergy and Sinus?

I've always tilted my head sideways (left for the right nostril, to the right for the left one) The first time I got it the instructions included this. I like the Original slanted nozzle and it makes the head tilt easy. I'm not sure how well the new stouter, straight-up tip will reach high enough to actually reach the sinuses. I've done one side and waited a bit and I actually have a bit coming from the opposite nostril (just a salty drip or two) which reassures me that it's doing it's job. Before this I depended on Pseudoephedrine Hcl for a chronic runny nose from multiple environmental allergies, including my cat. I take generic Zyrtec, which limits the reactions, but does nothing for a runny nose. Zyrtec-D has all of the same restrictions as the "D" (Pseudoephedrine Hcl, 12 hour) because it's used in the production of crystal meth. In my state any product containing it must be gotten from the pharmacy, show ID, and sign for it which gets entered in a state wide data base so multiple purchases can't be made. For the 12 hour type you can get 20 for a 14 day period, which is only enough for 10 days. This is much simpler. I've only used the Original and it does stop the "allergy drips". I've never used it for a cold, but the I haven't had one all winter, ever since I started using it--- Hmm......coincidence? I didn't even know about the other versions until very recently. I'll stick to the Original as long as it keeps working so well.

To get it to just mist to moisturize your nostrils, hold your head up, insert the nozzle into your nose, and push the trigger with short bursts while you inhale through your nose. Use a strong enough inhale, like when you're trying to get a decent whiff of something. That will get the mist up into your sinuses. It doesn't burn like getting water up your nose. It only makes my nose run if I was already congested, but that's good, it's supposed to loosen up the congestion. I use this from fall to spring, and it really helps relieve my sinuses from dry cold air!

Does this have baking soda in it and does it have the long nozzle like in your picture?

I got the giant size and it appears to have baking soda (listed as sodium bicarbonate). I have the Nasal Mist and use it everyday. I love it. I no longer have to use prescription nasal sprays and I am very clear now, even all night!! Yes, it does have a long nozzle on it and it is quite comfortable to use. This is great.

Mine runs out my nose. Is this supposed to mist?

It's a mist going in. You can verify that by squirting some into the air. You are not expected to "put your head down" as another person says, to do this. It's far from a waste of money, PeninTx. If you do it 1-2-3 times per day, like upon getting up and before going to bed or when you get into the house from outdoor chores. If you are prone to sinus infections, congestion, and flares, you will surely reduce your incidence of them if you are regular and persistent in your use of saline nasal irrigation. NEVER us with tap water, mind you. Better to use the premixed packets to the correct strength per measure of clean water than to guess and mess around with salt, which is no longer recommended, whatever people of a certain age did as children "sniffing up salt water" for congestion. Today, it's distilled or boiled water only. Use the saline mix packets. They're inexpensive and convenient. I prefer the bottle to the "pot" if I use anything other than this mist version. Read the literature on the hazards of tap water and incorrect saline solution, available in scary detail all over. Please check our this answer to another questioner: Some is going to run out. Gravity does that. The path into your sinuses is not straight up. Insert the nozzle into your nostril so that you angle the business end where the mist comes out toward the outside corner of the eye on that side of your face (same side as the nostril you are shooting the solution into). If you use a saline bottle with purified water, it's the same: you angle the nozzle toward the outside corner of the eye to get the solution up into the sinuses. After doing this you can hang down as if you were going to touch your toes (if you can do that safely) to get more solution up higher. Some will come out when you straighten up. I've been at this for over 20 years with one appliance or another and it will curb your sinus problems enough to make the trouble worth it is my experience.

Lifesaver for septoplasty recovery

Just had a septoplasty and this was a lifesaver. I was able to spray some on q-tips to clean my nose and use it to keep my nostrils from getting dry. For anyone getting the surgery soon, I also recommend using it in the shower. Spray in your nose and the blow. Helps clean out a lot of gunk and blood. Super easy to use and will continue to use in future when sick.

Seems to work keeping my sinus pain away…….

Seems to be working, or maybe a coincidence. Who knows? I was getting weekly sinus pain. So bad it made me nauseous, and would go on for a day or longer. I can’t take most pain meds so that was out of the question. I’ve been using Arm & Hammer Simply Saline Daily Care in the morning and at night and so far I haven’t had sinus pain in two weeks. I call that a win. I’ll keep using it. I blow my nose, spray in each nostril, then blow my nose again and that’s it.

Arm and Hammer Saline Nasal spray

We used to use the Neti pot with saline packets but now with all the brain eating bacteria scare from tap water we had been buying distilled water, it was kind of a nuisance extra step. This product seems to work well for nasal cleansing without the extra work. So far it has helped with night time congestion, post nasal drip/coughing. The "button" to depress for use was hard for my hand to use at first but either it has loosened up or my hand is getting stronger. I did not give 5 star because I have only used it at night time for about three weeks.

MIRACULOUS

I have been struggling for about 3 years with irritated sinuses/nasal passages which are usually swollen totally shut on one side, half shut the other. I've tried extra vacuuming and an air purifier (to reduce dust mites, pet dander etc) and antihistamines both sprays and pills, but it all did nothing- apparently not allergies. I tried several types of steroid sprays, which only helped a tiny bit and increased nosebleeds. I like Dristan but if I use it more than twice a week I get rebound congestion, and it leaves the passages TOO dry and open, so every little dust mote irritates. I have seen two ENTs and am on a waiting list to get turbinate reduction by cauterization, which I am scared to do because it requires general anaesthetic.And now thanks to this stuff I think I might decline that surgery! Of course I tried saline MIST first thing of all. It only helps a little. And I tried a Neti pot but that irritated my passages terribly so they clamped shut painfully for over 24h, both times I tried. So I'm not even sure what made me impulsively toss this in my cart. But it is DIFFERENT! It sprays a bigger amount than the mist but way, way smaller amount than the Neti. Just right. It lands where it should, not running down your throat, out your nose, or into your lungs. It seems to hit right where I have inadequate natural lubrication (ok "crusty snot" if you must lol) and in a minute or two, mixes into what is there, increasing its volume so it can be blown out, and some will remain for soothing the surfaces, leaving my passages happy for many hours. Just ideal!It is the perfect recipe for me too, lacking the chemical smell/taste some saline mist has, and not too salty like the mix that came with my Neti. WAY healthier than Dristan, steroids etc.For the past few days, I have been breathing out of two wide-open, noninflamed nostrils for the first time in years! I have not bothered using my expensive prescription steroid spray, or any other products, since getting this. I really can't overstate how lifechanging this stuff is! I am hopeful for various health improvements because I will no longer have insomnia and shallow sleep from blocked nose. I mean it seems sensible to assume being well rested might help mood, digestion etc. Time will tell.I'M SO STOKED!I never imagined I would be this excited over a simple bottle of saline.I am sure not every nose has exactly the same needs so maybe it won't work this well for you, but it is worth a try, especially since it is cheapIt is a much bigger volume than the saline mists. But not only that, I assume you use way more of each bottle too. With the mists, because it sucks in air after each squeeze, it gets micobes inside, imho. Mine tend to start smelling mildewy in a couple months and need replacing for freshness, when maybe 1/4 used. Because this bottle uses aerosol it does not suck in any air and so should remain sterile, allowing safe use of the entire bottle.
