A great trap
I’ve had 3 bird feeders destroyed by raccoons. I had to do something. I bought this trap 11 months ago. So far I have caught 49 raccoons. Not 1 raccoon has ever escaped. The trap is very strong. I relocate the raccoons to a nature preserve about 11 miles from my home. I don’t think that they are the same ones unless they have learned to hitchhike. The rear door makes it very easy to safely release them. Raccoons seem to love marshmallows. I tie 1 to the top and 1 to the side with string. I also spread 6 small marshmallows from the entrance. The cage is expensive but I think it is well worth it. No one has given me anything to write this review. I’m just having a lot of fun catching raccoons with this trap.6/19/23. I’m up to 68 raccoons trapped and relocated. This trap is still in very usable condition. No problems at all. I’ll update this review when I reach 100.

Forget the other traps...
For the past 2 months, I've had a racoon vandalizing my backyard and swimming pool. My lawn looked like a golf course where no one fixed their divots. Holes everywhere. After digging for grubs, the racoon would then enter my pool at the stairs and leave a trail of mud and dirt everywhere.I purchased some other cheaper, "highly rated" traps and each time the racoon was able to escape. I don't know, maybe these Texas coons are smarter and stronger than your average racoon, but whenever I'd step out into the backyard to check on one of the other traps, I'd usually find it upside down with the racoon and the bait gone.I finally caught the racoon the first night I used this Tomahawk trap. There he was in the morning sitting there as calm as you can be. But don't be fooled, when I picked up the trap, he was growling and snapping at me like a wildcat. Thankfully, with the tighter mesh of the Tomahawk trap, the racoon was not able to reach through the trap to bite or scratch me.The best part of this trap is the Easy Release door. With a highly irritated and nasty racoon trying to bite your hands, this feature was great. I stood the trap on its end and unlatched the door, put it back on the ground and easily removed the door. Off he went.I highly, highly recommend this trap. It's sturdier and much safer than the other traps I purchased. I don't have a pickup truck and had to relocate the racoon with my SUV. I can't imagine what would happen if it had got loose while driving. There was no way this racoon was escaping out of this Tomahawk trap. And in my opinion, the easy release door is a must have feature.

A very sturdy cage and trap for catching raccoons
Set up was relatively easy. Unfortunately, I caught some feral cats at first, LOL, but then was able to catch three raccoons separately. Those three raccoons, I believe, was a mother and two children who had been occupying, from time to time, my attic. After catching the raccoons and releasing them at a park far away, I am happy to say that at this point in time I am raccoon free. However, if any more of the rascals come back, I know I have a good trap to catch them. Although this item is on the expensive side, having a professional Trapper come out and try to catch them is at least $100 per raccoon. So, having caught the three raccoon family, I saved over $150 right off the bat. In addition, I have a good trap now to catch others that may come in the future.

Caught a Racoon that killed all my ducks
Last year I had 20 ducks. Over the course of the year, I lost one every week until there were none left. I had no idea what it was because I had a pond with alligator snapping turtles and alligators. We trapped the alligator with a fishing hook and killed it. However, it was not the direct cause. I guessed it was racoons because I have seen them around and they looked big enough to kill a duck when they are sleeping. I then bought this trap and on day 2 I caught a small stray cat. Not what would kill my duck so I changed my bait from porkchops to chicken and that immediately caught a raccoon on day 3. The cage didn't have big enough openings for the racoon to scratch or bite me. It was extremely easy to set up the trap and use the trap. The quality is pretty top notch too. Anyways keep up the good quality work. I think the pricing is a bit high but I see that it did the job with no hickup.

Nice trap.
I like this trap. It holds up well. The raccoons are rough on a cage and so far they have not tore this cage up. I like most the easy release door.

It works great
It was sturdy and the critters can’t roll it to get out or eat through the wire. It’s a quality product.

works great and is easy to use if you follow directions.
This trap worked great. it caught 4 skunks in 4 days. Yes you can use it on skunks, just make sure you wrap it in cardboard (barrier - plastic would work, too) and you will be odor free.

tough as a tank
this professional grade trap is built like a tank! the easy adjustment of the trip pan and solid lock up of the door open and shut will keep whatever you catch inside waiting for you to come back. I’ve tried havahart and a few others only to find the raccoon had destroyed the trap or rolled it leaving me with a hole and twisted wire plus the critter escaped. Built in Northern Wisconsin by people who know what it takes to sell you a trap that you can pass down to your kids!
