Exactly what I expected as far as the product itself. However the protective packaging had essentially disintegrated. Luckily there was no damage to the box other than a very small nick in one of the corners (which I will repair). I hope TaylorMade sees this review and addresses this issue before any significant damage occurs to any future shipments of their products and disappoints their customers.

Sadly, I cannot give this Taylor Made dock box anything above a two-star rating. Although the dock box itself appears to be of pretty decent quality, I was disheartened to find that the areas immediately to the left and right of their brand name label on the central top lid were heavily scratched, rendering an ironic blemish on their formerly reputable symbol. Additionally, the deep scratches (beyond a metal-like layer?) appeared as though someone had attempted to fix it with a vinyl marker, resulting in a rather unsightly appearance.The dock box's corners remained relatively intact despite the minimal protection given by the factory (I received this straight from the factory based on the external labels) because it was shipped in a big carboard box with rather spartan cardboard (4 foam corners that were loose and not secured by tape. It was clear that the deep scratches and flaws around on the brand name could not have been incurred during shipping, but rather sent to me straight from their factory in such a flawed condition. This is, without question, profoundly disappointing. I'm going to keep this box since I need it on an emergency basis, but in light of this experience, and I have no idea if this flaw will cause it to break prematurely, or just making me hate its appearance, because I feel cheated. I would suggest that buyers without emergencies consider buying dock boxes in person to avoid the possibility of receiving products with such glaring cosmetic defects.The intrinsic quality of this dock box may be satisfactory, but the overall impression and appeal has been significantly compromised by these imperfections, especially based on the fact that the Taylor Made factory itself is apparently ok with sending out defective merchandise to online buyers that trust their brand name to buy a "new" product.

Arrived damage free shipped by Amazon, packaged very well. Fiberglass Construction and the lid has a wood core to add strength. Wood core is covered on both sides with fiberglass. The finish is outstanding. I used six 5/16 lag bolts (hot dipped galvanized) to attach it to the pier, also used very large fender washers as shown in the picture. Was able to attach two of the lag bolts to a floor Joyce under the pier. I used 3 1/2 inch lag bolts to attach to the Joyce and 2 inch lag bolts for the other four screws that attached only to the deck boards. The box is very strong and supports two people sitting on it at same time.

Great product. Ours had a flaw on top - we called cyst service and was quickly and easily resolved.

The dock box showed up in a cardboard box that along with the styrofoam corner protectors was destroyed. I thought for sure it would be damaged. It turned out the box didn’t have a scratch. I guess a testament to the quality.I am very happy with my purchase. Excellent price.
