Q: Can these be stained or painted?

I painted mine the same color as my wall and it looks nice. Beware though, you'll need better drywall anchors than what comes with this. They don't work, and without better ones, it is super wobbly.

I wouldn't recommend it. Command strips wouldn't be strong enough.
