Won't charge, remote gives error message
*** Update 2/28/2012 *** I mentioned below Logitech was going to send me a replacement battery at no charge. A package arrived today and it was a brand new Harmony One remote. I figured someone made a mistake so I tried to contact Logitech support (I'm not one to take advantage of anyone's mistakes)to return it. After 20 minutes trying to get someone on the phone I gave up and came back to Amazon to make arrangement to return the battery reviewed on this page. I also looked at the Harmony One reviews and noticed the Most Helpful Critical review had the same issue so I read his comments and the replies by others. I recommend everyone who has a swollen battery look at that review and read all the comments. From what I can tell the issue may not be the battery at all, it is the remote itself (or it could be the battery damaged the remote when it swelled). I figure that's why they sent me a new remote. I'm going to change my rating but as I'm still not 100% sure where the issue lies you'll have to decide for yourself.***I've had my Harmony One remote for a few years and the battery finally started to go bad. The charge would maybe last a day. I ordered this battery based on cost and reviews. When I tried to remove the old battery I found it was swollen and hard to remove. After some quick research I found this to be a common problem. When I installed the replacement battery I found it was partially charged so I didn't put it in the charging cradle right away. It worked fine for a few days, however when I did put it in the cradle I got a charging error message on the screen with instructions to contact Harmony support. The battery would not take a charge. I pulled the new battery out to compare it with the old and the only difference in the specs were the mAh numbers. After some research I found this is the capacity and having a different mAh number doesn't matter; what matters is the volt figure (V). Both batteries are 3.7V (old batt = 950mAh, new = 1200mAh, so the new battery has more capacity or time between charges).I called Logitech and told the support person about the swollen battery and the error message on the new one. Incredibly, they offered to send me a replacement at no charge, even though it has been years since I bought the remote. I really can't say enough about Logitech and their support. This is the second time they came through in supporting a product I bought that was out of warranty with a free part.I'm really not sure what to take from this experience. There are so many positive reviews that I think I may have just gotten a bad battery. I wasn't thrilled with the thought of returning it as the shipping cost was more than the battery. My advice would be to call Logitech if your battery is swollen (take it out and look at it before you order - if you have to use needle nose pliers to get it out, it's swollen). If it's not swollen then you'll have to decide on taking a chance the cost savings of aftermarket replacement will work out against purchasing an OEM battery. I'm very impressed with Logitech customer support and will likely stick with them in the future.

Save your money (edit: Great for the money)
Garbage.I've gone through two of these Olympia batteries for my Harmony One. They start off fine the first few days, but within a couple of weeks, they stop holding a charge. Then, after a few more weeks, they wont even take a charge. The OEM battery seemed to last forever. I just wish Logitech sold replacement batteries.edit: I finally determined that it wasn't the batteries at all. It was my Harmony remote not charging. Once I bought an aftermarket battery charger, they worked just fine.

Swollen Battery in Logitech Remotes
My Harmony 900 just went dark almost precisely 2 years after purchase. It took considerable time to learn that the reason I could not extract the battery was because it swollen. I then opened my other remote (Harmony 1) to see if its battery could be a substitute and found that it too was swollen (18 months of use). No idea when these batteries became defective but clearly out of warranty now - both batteries have blue labels on them. I stopped by BestBuy to purchase replacements only to have a clerk tell me that the batteries were half the cost of a new remote implying that I would just be better off with a new remote - needless to say, they didn't carry the replacement batteries. The batteries I found here on Amazon are about 5% of the price of a new remote and work perfectly in both remotes. Given what I originally paid for these remotes I was not happy to learn that they both suffered the same plight without some kind of notice from Logitech.

Very happy.
Battery has been in service for a couple months now without any issues. Removing the old battery was a pain, but that is not the fault of the new battery. I suggest replacing the battery early if you are concerned. They swell and are difficult to remove. This battery holds a good charge and lasts as long as I recall the original remote lasting when I first purchased it. Do not leave it on the charger routinely. Let it discharge over the course of a week or so until the battery shows low and then put it on the charger.Compared to purchasing a new remote, this was an inexpensive way to prolong the useful life.

Don/t Be Fooled by the Low Purchase Price
This replacement battery for my Logitech Harmony 900 remote is working extremely well. It charges quickly and holds a charge for days. The old battery was causing issues with the remote control. Commands were not being received and there was lag issues with many of the buttons. All that has gone away and the remote has never worked better. If you remove your old battery and see a slight swelling of the outer case you need a new battery. I would not hesitate in purchasing this battery. Especially with the low purchase price. Even if it only lasts a couple of years it is worth the money.

Put new harmony in your Harmony remote
After several years of usage, my Harmony remote started having shorter and shorter battery life, usually dying out completely while I was trying to change channels or view the onscreen guide. I acquired a replacement battery through Amazon.com and now the remote is behaving as it did when first new. Definitely worth replacing your Harmony remote battery if you're experiencing similar symptoms.

Good so far
Appears to be a good product and value. I can’t give a battery life grade yet since I just received the battery

Does the job
Took a while to arrive, nearly 2 weeks I think and I was a bit worried based on other reviews it would not charge but got it put it in the remote and it worked and charged perfectly. Remote can not last easily 3 days out of the charger again. There is a big difference in price of these as they are in demand, no need to get the expensive ones this does the job!
