Good replacement for wooden oar
I bought a pair of these oars to replace wooden oars that have deteriorated by having to be outside in the boat. They work just as well as the wooden oars and, surprisingly, are exactly the same weight as the wooden oars. So they do not save weight. The padded handles have yet to produce any blisters after long use. To keep clamp-on oar locks in place, I use old inner tube material since the oar shafts are smooth and polished.

This is one freaking oar
I can only row in circles because imagine my chagrin when I discovered I had ordered ONE FREAKING OAR. Who the hell sells one oar? I thought I was getting a good deal. But $45 for one oar is a bit steep. The oar looks fine, although basic and not remotely ergonomic. Wouldn't have bought if I knew. Admittedly, my fault, but... one oar? Seriously?

study but light
i knew nothing about oars when i ordered these (still don't know a lot) these work surprisingly easy and seem plenty sturdy. all i knew about rowing was from rowing machines in the gym. actual rowing is easier as far as effort is concerned but staying straight in the creek is surprisingly difficult. that's no fault of the oars, solely that of the operator

Looks to be a good quality oar and I like the blade size
Seems strong and company said it is built for white water when I called them before ordering. These are not the HD aluminum oars I used commercially on class 5 water, but they are a fraction of the price. Blade is proper size. I will only be using on class 4 on my Hyside paddle cat I built a frame for so these should do nicely. Main thing is figure your oarlock height and the width of the boat before ordering. There are many sites online to help you with this.

A little pricey but worth it.
I wanted oars that wouldn't decompose over time after leaving them out in the weather. This fit the bill. Time will tell whether the sun will cause the plastic paddles to rot. this is why I give it a 4 star. As of now, I recommend this product. I wish they would sell them in sets of two at a discount but maybe I'm to picky.

These work great and the price was good
These work great and the price was good! I use them on my 14ft whitehall with gimbaled oarlocks ! I have wood ones too that look better with a traditional boat but these are lighter !

Both filled with water. Makes it heavy.

Very Pleased
These oars are light and handle very nicely. Whereas I would always have to take my wooden oars into the boathouse, I leave these ones out on the boat and they continue to show no signs of weathering issues. Very pleased with the product!
