There seem to be more reviews about other products here. I am reviewing the manual side cutting can opener. It came with a corkscrew that broke on the first cork I pulled - natural cork, not plastic. I only wanted the can opener, so no foul. I was familiar with side-cut can openers and wanted one for myself. The handle needs more strength to twist that a top cut opener but the advantages are that you need not squeeze the handle to keep the blade cutting as opposed to skipping out and the cut is smoother. I wouldn't rub the edge over my face, but it is much less likely to cut that the edges made by a top cutter. With this opener, your left hand only holds the handle and the right does the work. The was no instructions with the unit so anyone not familiar with side cut can openers is going to be puzzled.

The first one i bought worked great for a while. Really love the way it works. However, the first one wore out over some time (not too bad) so i bought two more to make sure I had a spare when it wore out. However, the next one lasted about 10 cans and the second one lasted maybe 2 cans.Bummer, better quality and construction and this could be a great product.

This can opener worked fine for maybe 3 weeks before something wore out and it doesn't work at all anymore (and it's not like we open a ton of cans).

Took me a hot second to figure out how to use this, but it works great. It is a little tight at first, so if you have grip issues this may not be a good fit for you.I like how it removes lid without sharp edge.

Will only work on certain cans, and IF it works, it can take two to three trips around the rim to get it open. Does not like large cans or thick cans.

This is the most miserable can opener headed for the trash. It must have been highly rated when I bought it because I always read reviews first. I have tried different cans and always with the instructions in hand but so far I have not opened a single can, well maybe one. I have only succeeded in making it harder to open a can with the old opener from the supermarket. I try and try hold this way and that way, turn this way and that and all get is a marred unopened can.I kept on thinking I was missing something and then I waited too long to return it.

I'm very happy with this can opener. It takes up much less space than my traditional one. like all edge cutting openers, it struggles with cans with damage on their rims, but I don't come across too many of those.

I received this item on November 27th and it worked amazingly. After a week of leftovers from Thanksgiving I pulled it out excited to use it again because I thought I had finally purchased a can opener worthy of being in my kitchen and that was worth the money spent on it... Low and behold it would not even puncture a can, after trying 7 different sized cans I can give this review with total accuracy and complete honesty. Total waste of money! I was not aware I purchased a disposable can opener.
