Wonderful aroma as the bag is opened. Smooth, well-balanced taste with no bitterness. Lacks "roasted on" date on package.
The media could not be loaded. This is a review of Dancing Moon Jamaica Blue Mountain whole bean coffee. I received a free sample for review.I enjoyed the aroma of the whole beans when the bag was opened. The flavor of the coffee is excellent. It's very well balanced and flavorful with no bitterness.I seldom use sweetener of any sort with the coffee I drink and never use creamer. This coffee has a wonderful taste that stands up on its own without having to add anything else.Although this is not organically produced coffee, it is certified by the Coffee Industry Board of Jamaica as being grown in a legally designated growing area in the Blue Mountains of eastern Jamaica. Jamaican Blue Coffee is a more expensive coffee so being certified does give you some confidence you are not being fleeced. However, you're either going to like the coffee or not and the fact that it is board certified doesn't really have much bearing on that. The bag of coffee has no roasted on date nor any expiration date. That puts the freshness of the coffee into question. I have no idea whether what I've just received was roasted a week ago or a year ago.Close inspection of the beans show quite a few defects such as broken beans, malformed beans, etc. This infers a lower grade of coffee bean.In the final analysis, I found this to be a good smelling in the bag, great tasting coffee in the cup. But at roughly $48/pound (at the time of my review) I would expect assurance of the freshness of the coffee and less bean defects. It is for these reasons that I am rating this 3 stars. Look at it this way.... if you went to an exclusive artisan bakery to buy a loaf of fresh baked bread that cost $6 you could justify that. But if that loaf of bread were 2 weeks old, it would be stale and it would not be worth $6.The lack of a roasted on date is a big deal and for coffee this expensive, it's the deal breaker. Should the company add a roasted on date based on my review, I would reconsider my rating. But until that happens, you simply do not know how fresh this coffee is.

Smooth and rich. A wonderful Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee!!!
Dancing Moon 100% Board Certified Genuine Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee is one of the best Jamaica Blue Mountain coffees I've ever tasted. It's incredibly smooth and full-bodied, without a trace of bitterness. The moment you open the bag and smell the wonderful rich aroma you know you're in for a remarkable coffee experience. All genuine Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee is pretty expensive but Dancing Moon costs quite a bit less than all the others. This is my go-to coffee when I really want to indulge myself with a special treat. Highly recommended!!!

The Dancing Moon Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee is a really nice full-bodied, medium roast coffee ...
The media could not be loaded. I’ve tried one of the other kinds of Dancing Moon coffees before, Colombia Nariño, a wonderful light to medium roast. I’ve also sampled the single-serve Jamaica Blue Mountain. This particular coffee is not organic, but is certified to be 100% Jamaica Blue Mountain. In order to have the seal, it “must be grown in legally designated growing areas high in the Blue Mountains of eastern Jamaica.” The company donates 5% of their profits to the Semper Fi Fund. I’m all for companies who give back to the community at large. The Blue Jamaican is a medium roast and isn’t overwhelmed by a bit of cream and sugar (organic of course). I did try it sans any additives and then added the extras, which I prefer. I do have a preference for a strong dark roast, but this roast is a very close second. The single-serve K-cups are great, but if I really love a coffee (I do this one), they seem to disappear quickly. If you’ve ever tried a Jamaica Blue in K-cup and have decided it, perhaps purchasing it in bag form is the way to go. Like the Colombia Nariño, it doesn’t leave one single bit of bitterness on my tongue, something that tells me it’s been perfectly roasted. Before I even sampled the Dancing Moon coffee I was checking out the company online. There’s nothing out yet on the Blue Jamaican, but it’s obviously an excellent roast. No barista here, but judging from the coffee I’ve tried so far, they have to be selecting the best beans for roasting. I couldn’t spot a roasting date nor an expiration date, but with the K-cups the date was a full year out. There definitely was no bitter aftertaste and there was no acidity, but rather a nice smooth taste I totally enjoyed. As I mentioned I tried the coffee solo first to check for anything like a burnt taste. There wasn’t anything of the kind. It was definitely a designer-like coffee with a great taste, better than many I’ve tried. The coffee is an excellent one, something I’d definitely purchase again.Sample provided for review.

Love at First Sip - Smooth Sensual Coffee
Dancing Moon has some of the best coffees I've ever tried and I can't get them at my local store. When compared to what I can get at my store this coffee is just superior in taste. This Jamaican coffee is smooth and sensuous without any acidic taste. It also has no tobacco taste which I appreciate. It seems to be a lightly roasted coffee in comparison to what I normally drink. It is definitely not a deep roasted Italian blend if you want something to compare it to.This coffee is a rare treat and it was love at first sip. I drink it with half-and-half and stevia and it is delicious. Goes very well with a chocolate Atkins bar in the morning. This is the type of coffee I dream about but rarely drink. I freshly grind the beans each morning for the best and freshest flavor.~The Rebecca ReviewI received one free package of coffee beans for review purposes. This review is my honest opinion.
