Truly Amazing!
Microsoft Surface RT is an elegant, sturdy, and highly versatile piece of equipment. From day one, I was impressed with its quality and design. The touch screen is very responsive, the screen size (10.6") is perfect for its functions, it has exceptional speed when using programs or surfing the web, and with 2 GB of RAM, one is capable of running multiple things at the same time without having your experience hindered. Essentially, The Surface is very much like a tablet version of a PC. It comes pre-loaded with some very useful programs such as Skype and Microsoft Office 2013. However, this also means one has to use the Windows app store, which provides a limited selection of apps compared to other operating systems. If the prospective buyer is not looking for a tablet that places the power of a PC in the palm of ones hand, then the Surface might not be the best choice. Overall, I give the Microsoft Surface RT 5 stars because it is everything that I want in a tablet, especially in being a college student. It is much simpler to take it to class compared to bringing a laptop each day.

Can't even get started
I have no idea if this product is any good or not. This is my first tablet so I'm not the most sophisticated of users, although I've had desktops and laptops for decades both at work and at home. Instructions are minimal--just one half page of tips that are entirely inadequate for changing the date and time and, more critically, activating the operating system. I flubbed the process, and now, it seems, I cannot have another try at activating the system. My tablet is useless, at least as things stand. My first attempts at getting in touch with the seller make it obvious that is not going to be an easy process.

Exactly What I Wanted
I bought this for just $200, a steal of a buy for a product that has extreme ease of access and functionality. With the keyboard, this functions better than my now 1.5-year-old laptop computer for classroom environment. The Good: Very fast start up, fast application launch times, great streaming from video apps, lightweight, MS Office is just as good as on a PC. Extremely easy to take notes in class and I can now take just this singleThe Bad: There are very few apps compared to ANY other system like Android or Apple products. I found myself looking for close to a dozen apps which just don't exist on here. Some of the apps are pretty jacked up, as well, so if you are a person who is very fond of apps, keep looking.IMPORTANT: If you don't like Windows 8, you will HATE this. I love Windows 8 and find it much easier to access anything on it than on any other OS, so I am very happy with my Surface. I recommend buying refurbished, as Amazon guarantees functionality and it'll save you a lot of money. Same goes for the necessary keyboard.

Nice Machine with some issues
Well this one is difficult to rate. On the one hand, it works very nicely and the price is right compared to the full Surface Computers. They are just overpriced. On the other hand , the printer drivers are non existent for older equipment. I was not able to ever get my Dell 1320C laser printer to work. We did have an Epson that worked. I originally bought it for my wife as a tablet and a terminal for remote desktop and for those purposes it works like a charm. It comes loaded with a full Microsoft Office Suite. She can log on to her other machine from anywhere in the house and have all her files available and still use it as a tablet. Get the tactile keyboard instead of the touch keyboard. Just a few dollars more. The other thing I really wanted to do was be able to remote from a distant location but my internet carrier wanted an arm and a leg to give me a static IP address. You need a static IP address to be able to remote back to your machine from outside the home. If you can get a static IP address, it's a wonderful little machine. That said, it performs well, fairly speedy, does pretty much what I expected and didn't cost too much.

Three Stars
Good product but wasn't expecting the screen to have a black line through it.

Think twice before purchasing this product!
This product does not work properly. The screen regularly freezes, the touch screen does not work, and the keyboard keys in random keys as I type. It was this way from the moment that I opened the package. I am highly dissatisfied with this product. If you are going to order a refurbished Microsoft Surface, I would advise you to call the company first. I am very disappointed with this purchase and would not recommend this product or company to others. I purchased this product to use in my classroom, and there is absolutely no way that it is usable.

A great price for a limited number of features.
I bought this for my dad to do basic email, internet and Netflix with. I have a Surface Pro 2, and was skeptical to buy a machine running Windows NT, but it's been great. What I love about this is the price. That's what made us buy this. And it works for everything that we wanted it for. The Windows app store has some pretty good options - Netflix works well, Skype works well. The USB port is also helpful to set up an external keyboard for him (as the Microsoft versions are too foreign for him to use). What I hate about this is that you can't install software (because it isn't running a traditional Wondows version). If I had this instead of my Pro I'd probably hate it, especially since it doesn't upgrade to Windows 10 which is pretty great. All in all, it's a good deal for a limited number of features.
