I really like this. Fits well in the drain, and doesn't keep the water from draining like the ones that have plugs do.

I use this in my utility sink where the washing machine drains. It works too good! Catches lint and then the sink drain slow. For small loads, no problem, but for large loads, the sink overflows. I do love that it is catching all that lint though (I do have a lint catcher on the hose too). It is a bit of a hassle to clean so I gave it low marks on that. But it will keep things out of your drain.

A great little mess strainer

I got this for my tub, which had one of those pop-up drains. We would get hair build-up & clogs, because there was nothing much to prevent hair from washing down the drain.I unscrewed the pop-up drain, and am storing it away, and using this now. We mostly take showers & don’t often need to stop up the drain.-This fit nicely, flush against the tub drain.-Doesn’t get knocked out of place.-Catches all the hair. (Long hair and even small stuff like cat hair & fuzz.)-Easy to clean...just scoop out the hair & maybe rinse it each time. So quick & easy.-On the easy to clean note, no silicone to harbor mold growth, like other drain protectors.-I’m not experiencing any water back-up during my showers. Even my thick conditioner doesn’t cause a problem. But I do clean it every shower.-Been using two weeks in a heavy-use bathroom & no sign of rust.I was so impressed, I bought a second one for our other bathroom. I looked at all the different fancy ones, and was willing to pay for something that was just right. But this actually seems the most functional & suited to what I wanted. It does the job very well & is fairly unobtrusive.

The strainer is well made but too light to remain in the drain if you empty even a gallon of water into the sink at once. It floats up off the drain and allows the debris it should be catching under the rim until the flow subsides. OK if you are just running a even stream of water down the drain but a failure if you empty a mop bucket. The mesh is very fine so if you do have smaller bits of debris it does catch you have to clean it out before it dries. If not, you will have to soak it to loosen the dried debris - and use an old toothbrush to dislodge the finer particles.

This was the only one small enough for the tub, not overly cheap, or gave more than it wanted. It feels sturdy, fits the tub, doesn't hurt to step on. Might fill a little fast but has more to do with size than anything.Its a haircatcher. It looks like it does in image. Might be a little annoying to get get everything out of the smaller ones. The mesh is tight and things won't get through easy.

The Danco 88820 2 in. Mesh Bathroom Lavatory Sink Strainer, Stainless Steel works great by catching debris such as food particles and keeping it from going down my drain in my bathroom sink. It is very easy to clean.

This little drain screen fits perfectly in my bathroom sink! What a relief! Now I don't have to worry about stuff falling down the hole!

This tub strainer works exactly as advertised. It sits flush with the drain and catches everything (even, it seems, skin flakes). It is difficult to clean: the best way to clean it is to let it dry thoroughly, and then hair etc. will easily come off the mesh (in one piece, if you're careful).

Does the job very satisfactorily. Other comments refer to rusting - no experience of that with mine (although I purchased 2 just in case!)

It does what it's intended for.The mesh is really compact so you have to empty it after each shower if you have long hair because because if you don't clean it, it clogs.
