Does what I wanted
Contrary to a number of reviews, the switch and the outlet are independent of each other. If the switch is off, you can still use the outlet. For this to work, you need to wire it correctly. Wire it incorrectly and it won't work. Which wires go where is clearly labeled on the back.A few days ago I replaced our radon fan which had died. It has a power switch outside, and it was old, rusty, and weathered. As I thought about it, I figured it would be convenient to also have an outlet there so I wouldn't need to run an extension cord if I was doing work on that side of the house. There are no outlets near there.The switch and outlet look good, are working as expected, and had no problems with installation.I've purchased numerous Enerlites electrical products and have always been very happy with them. They are excellent quality at a great price.

Good quality
I installed it on my house to control the power of a security camera on the other side of the wall. It works great. The indicator just shows that power is on.

THE SWITCH DOES NOT CONTROL THE OUTLET
I did not fully read the information about this unit. The unit worked well as intended, though not the way I was hoping. My mistake. Switch broke after 4 years.
The media could not be loaded. Installed this 4 years ago. Switch stopped working properly. Now it is garbage. Buy name brand next time.
