Good value UVB bulb.
I ordered two of these 5.0 UVB bulbs in November. They both work as they should and start right up with no flicker or dim areas. I run them 12 hours a day on a timer and have had no issues. I can't comment on longevity as I've only been using them for two and a half months. I have no idea why thickness was even listed as part of the review choice on the star markers, makes absolutely no sense. I would definitely buy again based on price, quality and the low amount of UVB I wanted to supply for my gecko.

Don't believe the smear campaign!
These bulbs work great! My last bulb was still going strong over a year but i bought a new one to be sure my turtle was getting enough UV. The pictures you see of half lit bulbs are pictures of bulbs that were just initially turned on. The bulbs are compact fluorescent. Anyone with a brain stem knows that they take a few minutes to warm up and get to full brightness.

Our anole votes daily for this bulb
10 gallon aquarium has a 60W incandescent basking light and this UV light. Both lights have plants under them with leaves at the same height. Our anole is consistently laying under this bulb all spread out like he is enjoying a post-Thanksgiving food coma on the couch. Been in use for about 6 months and has been 100%. Probably time to swap in a new one to keep the UVs potent!

Provides light & UVB.... I think
I have no idea about the actual UVB output from this bulb (aside from what is on the box), but the light is only pretty good. I would recommend an additional regular light bulb, depending on how large your tank is. One bulb is definitely not enough to completely light up my 29gal tanks. It would probably be ok for a small tank like a 10gal.

Inexpensive, works great, arrived in time! Will buy from this seller again!
I'm not sure about longevity, we just received the bulb today. But the light is not overpowering, it woke up the chameleon like real daylight. Which is good because we keep our house very dark inside. When we shut off the light the chameleon went to sleep. Excellent!

Doesn't last as long as it should
I've used UVB and UVA bulbs before that I purchased from PetSmart and generally know what to expect. They usually work well and can get about 6 months out of them before they lose their UV-emitting qualities. After that they still emit light and are otherwise functional but no longer emitting UVB radiation. This bulb only lasted about 3 months before it was full of dark spots. The bulb separated from the base after the first month although I was able to force it back in a few times and it has mostly held together.Another reviewer mentioned having better experience buying from the store and the logic of having larger, better-protected shipments vs parcel delivery makes sense. I think these bulbs are fragile and don't stand up well to getting knocked around during shipping so, if you can, it's better to buy these from the store. If you need a UVB bulb then these will work ok for a short time. I actually bought another one from Amazon and I'll see how long it lasts. If it's as short-lived as the last one then I'll definitely only buy from the store from now on.If you need a bulb for the short term these will work ok, just realize they don't last as along as they should.

Good value, functional light
So far so good. My frogs actually seem to seek the light out. If they like, I like it. So far have not had any issues with longevity and the price is perfect. I got the 13 watt so it's short enough to fit into a regular flukers dome light.

Perfect for whites tree frogs!
I bought this because it was cheaper on amazon than at all the local pet stores. I use it for my dumpy tree frogs. It's perfect. It does not get too hot (it is not a heat lamp) so I don't worry if my frog is on a branch right hear the light. This also seems to last linfer than the heat bulbs I use for my other reptiles. I bought the smaller size because I have a smaller doom fixture and it fits perfectly.
