It Does Exactly What It Says It Does
It is small. I don't mind that because it's easy to store. It's also a very basic machine with an on/off button, a lid and no "heat shield" on the bottom (it's not needed because you are not resting your hands on the bottom anyway. Some people have complained that it isn.t large enough. I have large hands, but they are not very fleshy. I have no trouble submerging my entire hand up to the wrist into the paraffin bath. I did buy extra paraffin and found that adding 1 1/2 bars of paraffin makes for a deeper bath. I did not buy it intending to submerge my feet, but if that is something you want to do, you would be better off with a larger unit. The wax does take about 2 1/2 hours to melt completely. Once I realized that, I just remember to turn it on about 3 hours before I plan to use it. I do not find the heat to be excessive. Yes, it is hot....but you are dipping your hand in and out pretty quickly and the heat is therapeutic. I have never found it intolerable.I've noticed that after using the paraffin bath daily for a week, I not only have less pain in my finger joints, but my fingernails are not breaking as easily or peeling. Win/win. I did not waste my money on gloves. I use (and reuse) a zip lock bag. The paraffin is great quality, moisturizes nicely and, if you follow instructions and dip 5 times for 5 thin layers, makes a thick layer that easily peels off like a glove after about 15 minutes. All in all, I'm very happy with this inexpensive, no frills unit.Update 8/28/23 - Still very pleased with this. One tip for those who think the wax is too hot. I remove the lid once the wax is completely melted and wait 10 minutes to dip my hand. The wax cools just enough so that it is more comfortable on the skin. Hope this helps.

Small but effective
This is a small paraffin bath for hands. I have small hands and they fit, but there's not enough room to fully open all my fingers. I do like it doesn't take up a lot of space. Just an on/off button, no temp button. I've used paraffin baths before, and it is hot, but I have no issue dipping my hand in a few times before wrapping in plastic bags. If you have sensitive hands, just test it first. I didn't like the scented wax it came with, so I purchased 2 lbs unscented from another vendor. I used 1 1lb bag, and it was enough, but will likely add more so it covers the top of my hand as well. I turn it on and go back after about 90 minutes, and it is all melted. No big deal, just turn it on while you are still cooking, cleaning, etc.. and it will be melted when you go back to it later.

Efficiency of use
My unit arrived today. I would have to agree with much that other purchasers have reported and I knew these things when I purchased. I was really desperate for a unit so I ordered with eyes wide open. I am currently in a very painful arthritis flare in my hands with swelling, stiffness. In such circumstances one will settle for a little relief in the day even though not perfect. True, you cannot control the temperature. True the unit is small. But it isn’t impossible for a woman’s hands to use this even though coverage may not be perfect. The addition of extra wax will help greatly. I will be going to Walmart tomorrow to purchase a pound of canning wax for $4 to add in increments. Yes Gulf sealing wax works. To help with the initial melt of the wax that came with the unit, I used a sharp paring knife to pare the wax into small slices which took all of 5 minutes. I did this on a piece of foil. In one hour the wax was melted enough that I could dip most of my hands one at a time. The relief for those few minutes was wonderful. When finished my hands were beautifully moisturized and I then rubbed them with Voltaren gel to help with the pain. I will consider a more expensive unit when I see how much this helps.

Good for money but small
The unit is nice for the price but it’s too small for my feet and husband’s hands. Living in the Midwest, our hands dry out and crack in winter months. I thought we could both benefit from the wax & moisturizer. I’m going to pass this unit on to my daughter and buy a bigger unit for our needs.

VERY LONG HEATING TIME AND SMALL UNIT
I really wanted to love this but the unit takes way too long to melt the wax. First time was nearly five hours (yes, outlet works fine) The second time was nearly three hours. With that being said, it is small. You don't get to spread your fingers in there the way it says to do. It's awkward trying to get a little more than your hand in there. I tried it in on my feet. I am a size 7. It worked ok for that, but if you have larger hands and feet, I don't think this product is for you. Also, because it is a small dipping area, be careful not to move your hands around too much or it will splash on uint or over the unit. I went with this because of the name and decent price, but probably should have saved my money and went for a bigger one where it is more comfortable and heating isn't so long.

I love this hot wax machine!
I'm currently recovering from a broken hand, I bought this unit because it's small, I have petite hands and feet anyway, so, it's perfect for my needs. Anyway when I wake up early in the morning I turn it on and then go back to bed, when I wake up again it's ready to use, my hand won't bend if I don't use this first thing. For those that have bigger feet ( I'm a 6.5) you can use a container or plastic cup to scoop some wax out and put it into a bag like they do at a salon. Make sure to wash hands and feet before use. I also bought replacement wax, and plastic bags that are appropriate for the hot wax to be in. For me it's worth every penny!
