Impressive Kenmore Canister Vacuum Upgrade
I was a bit skeptical about the new floor piece attachment for my Kenmore canister at first, but it has completely blown me away. The performance rivals, if not surpasses, that of older models. The real game-changer is the motorized pet mate attachment, which is a must-have for me as a cleaning professional. This feature has made the Kenmore my ultimate pick in the market. Highly recommend it!

5 Vacuum Cleaners Later I Finally Found A Good One!
I had an upright Electrolux that was the best vacuum I have ever had in over 55 years of vacuum cleaner owning. But all good things come to an end and Electrolux no longer makes that vacuum and there are no longer replacement parts available. I was almost heartbroken. Well, 4 months and 5 vacuum cleaners later, I finally found one I like just as much. (I went through a Dyson, Hoover, Shark, Riccar, and a no-name brand, These ranged in price from $200 to $1,300. Some were junk and some were simply disappointing. Cost played no part in how I felt about them.) After so many failures, I decided to try this Kenmore 600 cannister. By this time, I had learned to photograph each step of unpacking the vacuums so I'd know how to put the pieces back in the box for return shipment. We'll, I'm happy to announce that the box for this Kenmore 600 went into the recycling bin last week!!!PROS:1. EXCELLENT SUCTION POWER. Sucks dog hair which is several inches away from the brush head both in front and on the sides.2. On board storage of most used accessory tools.3. Retractable cord.4. Rotary brush that works on both hard and soft floors. Brush rotation can be stopped if desired.5. Hard floor suction head. Best use is under furniture due to its low profile.6. 2-motor system making suction equally fantastic even if using the hose alone.7. Quiter than most other vacuums.8. Toe operational height adjustment - no bending over to adjust.9. Fingertip continual variable suction power (on Low it sucks dirt from small rugs and mats without sucking them up into the vacuum cleaner).10. Uses a bag making it much easier, neater, and dust free than emptying a bagless vacuum cleaner.11. Beautiful purple color.CONS (more like "suggestions"):1. I'd like the cord to be 35 feet long instead of 28.2. Pulling a cannister around takes some getting used to, but it's lightweight enough to easily pick up. Plus the bump spots are covered in rubber to protect walls and furniture from my lousy steering. I found after the 3rd time I vacuumed I developed a system that overcame my steering troubles.I strongly recommend this Kenmore 600 to anyone searching for a really good vacuum. It's reasonably priced and comes with all of the tools most of us ever need.FYI:The Riccar I tried was a few dollars shy of $1,300 and was the 2nd worst vacuum cleaner of the 5 I had tried. The Hoover was pure junk, the Dyson was mediocre, the Shark was just ok, and the no-name was slightly above mediocre.

Great vacuum but has flaws in design
The media could not be loaded. Three months using this vacuum and it’s a great vacuum for whole house with hardwood floors and rugs. The cord is nice and long. The wand is adjustable, great for using the dusting tool on baseboards or ceiling fans. The suction on rugs is awesome and the pet tool works great!! Unfortunately, it has two flaws that drive me crazy otherwise it would have five stars. Vacuum wand won’t stand up unless it’s in a specific position (video 1) and the hardwood floor tool compartment opens if the hose bangs against it or you pick it up it will open and the hardwood floor tool will fall out (pic2). Fix these two flaws and the vacuum is a 5+

Defective
First let me say I have been a 50 yr supporter of Kennmore products as has been my family. So, when my previous kennmore canister vacuum expired after several years of rugged use (teenagers & dog), it was a no brainer for me to replace with another one of the same type. It arrived swiftly and was gladly received with enthusiasm to get to work. Functioned terrifically....hardwood floors, area carpets, great suction and power for pet hair. Very pleased. But then...after only one months use, the hose detached/seperated from the canister in a way it wasn't designed to. I attempted to reassemble. Plugged it and turned on. Sparks flew like crazy. Scary! Amazon was great about returning it and sending a replacement. Two months later, exact same thing happened to the replacement. My husband attempted to gently reassemble and once again, sparks flew like crazy. Dangerous to say the least!!! Came back to my transaction account on Amazon to see what the next step might be. Apparently Amazon only makes good on one return. After that, I was directed to the manufacturer...Kennmore. At this point, they are not sending a replacement. They are going to send me a new part. However the part is out of stock and on back order. Actually, the part they are sending goes to another model, I was told but it's the same for both models but might be a different color. May be on back order for one month and if not received by then, call them back. In the meantime, my house is full of pet hair from my large Labrador shedding his winter coat. I asked about just having a whole replacement instead but according to what I was told, the whole vacuum is also on back order. I have to wait for the part and if it doesn't come, then they will decide how to handle it next. Really, this is a huge issue for me. I can't give the vacuum itself a good review since both of them broke in the same way. There must be a weakness or defect in the product. I also can't say Kennmore has been good to work with either.4/28/24 I just came back on here to check if there were any follow-up comments by either Amazon or Kenmore as I sometimes see when I read a review that gives a low rating. No comments, but I decided to read some of the other poor reviews while I was on the site. I wish I would have read them first!! I am having the exact same problems....the hose connection, the burning and sparks. I never read the reviews, because as I initally wrote, I have been a Kenmore product user for at least 50 yrs and my family before that even....( washers, dryers, stoves, refrig, freezer - actually have a 43 yr old Kenmore chest freezer in my basement working beautifully, vacuums and probably other things too). So, I figured it was a no brainer, no need to read the reviews. What a mistake.5/30/24So the new hose/part arrived about a week ago, maybe a week and a half. Due to illness I didn't get to try it out right away. Able to get to business today. Surprise, surprise....the new part does NOT work. Looks just like the part that failed. Although the representative did tell me the replacement would not be the one that went to the model I purchased, but one that went to a similar model that used the same hose. Well....apparently not!! At this point, I do not know who to contact anymore. I am now at 6 mos past origional purchase. When/if I finally get through to customer service today, will they say time has expired and I am past warranty date?? So, $348.15 down the drain!?? I will repost an update after today with the results. By now, I should be sent a refund, obviously another new machine will not solve the problem since it seems this model is defective.

Very good product!
We’re hard on vacuums with 4 cats and 2 dogs and this is my third . I love this machine. The hand held pet attachment is the best! Worth the little bit extra money. Five star rating! Mine is named Gladys.

Efficient vacuuming
Can’t say enough about this vacuum. It is so easy to use in terms of portability, dusting, stairs, getting under things and its suction power. I tried an upright and returned it immediately. The price is right too. I also love that it has a bag for the dust collection, so I never need to empty dirty cups (releasing dust into the air). I’m a canister vacuum cleaner customer for life.
