Plug in and turns on!
Typically a product will come with instructions on how to install. You get two small heatsinks, a fan, four small cap screws, four white washers/spacers, two smaller countersunk machine screws and the fan mount. The heatsinks have two screw holes on each side so you can place the fan mount in various locations. Use the countersunk screws to attach the mount on one heatsink then the cap screws go through the fan and into the other heatsink. Problem that I had was the screw holes on the heatsinks did not perfectly line up with the fan mount so a little force was needed to get it to fit and work.Positives: it nearly matched the color of the Traxxas VXL 3500 motor it went on and matches the color of the Hot Racing motor mount. It clipped right on the motor with no modification and can be removed as a whole unit if needed without taking the motor out. After a little moving back and forth, rotating the motor clockwise 90° (when looking from the back) so the VXL motor wires are coming out the side rather than the top, I got it all mounted and it fit perfectly. I removed the JST(?) plug and used a Futaba connector to directly install into the receiver.I've had this for one day and powered it up to verify it worked. Will run the truck for a while and plan on updating this review.

Great fit, great performance
Added onto a hobbywing motor and it fit nice a tight. Nice having different mounting options as well. Blows plenty of air and cooled my motor significantly. Would be nice if the wire was slightly longer. Ended up cutting a tiny slit in my reciever box to route the wires then a dab of silicone to seal it back up.

Perfect for Slash Ultimate
You have to be careful and take some reviews with a grain of salt. RC has users come from all walks of life, from snot nosed children to engineers.Fit is perfect if you're mechanical inclined. For the Slash, do not assembly as pictured. The best and easiest is mount the fan directly to the heat sinks (with the plastic washers in between and leave out the silly upper bracket. If you do that, it fits perfectly without having to move a thing on a Slash Ultimate. However, the leads are just a bit short if you try to go to the receiver box. However, there really isn't a good reason to install it like that. If you go directly to the ESC fan lead, it's more than long enough. If you already have a fan on the ESC, just make or buy a simple splitter and you're done. I understand, for kids, that may be asking a lot. For an RC enthusiast, installation is simple.

Fan suddenly stopped, contacted HR for warranty and they said tough luck!
Got this knowing HR is a decent company...Kinda. Installation was easy, looks real nice. Fan is pretty cheap though...the important part. After only maybe an hour of use the fan stopped. I had checked the esc with a different fan and it works. So I contacted HR about getting a replacement fan, dont need the metal peice. They replied due to the nature of the hobby, there is no warranty. I would like to think the fan should last longer than that...never again with HR. Ill look elsewhere.

Fit my 3d printers 36mm extruder like a glove
Did what I wanted to help cool my 36mm extruder on my 3d printer, had to trim it down a bit and get a different 24v 30mm fan but I’d say it’s still worth the money to keep the extruder from melting things from over heating during high speed printing!

Fan stopped working after first run
The heatsink is great, fan not so much. Stopped spinning after first run. Disconnected everything, cleaned it, etc..., but fan no longer works. Seems motor blew out. I've used cheaper fans and bashed the heck out of them, and are still working. So disappointed in this fan. Ended up ordering a good quality fan of the same dimensions, and mounted it on the heat sink that can with this fan. But I shouldn't have had to do that, and fan should have lasted longer.

Can fit differently then pictured to fit Veleneon
I have a Traxxas Rustler 4x4 VXL. The VXL versions have Veleneon brushless motors. With the included bracket that mounts motor off to the side, this thing does not fit with the lip and electrical connector on top of this motor. However... throw the bracket in the garbage and use the 2 small heatsinks provided as they easily snap onto motor without removing it. Then use the plastic standoffs between heat sink and fan. Screw fan directly onto the heat sinks. Keeps my motor much cooler now in summertime. Blows hard directly onto motor. This kit comes with NO instructions so you have to zoom in on pictures on the internet of this thing installed. Not hard if you throw the bracket in the garbage. Happy with it now.

Better options out there
Couldn't mount it properly on my motor it was too cumbersome for my application. Looks good though
