Cutting Edge Tech
Thank you, Wùsthof, a knife sharpener that works! I had two paring knives that were blunt with the edges crinkled. After using the sharpener several times, the crinkerly edges were gone and the blade was again super sharp (like new) again!

It works well
We’ve owned a set of Wusthoff knives for over 20 years. I used to use the sharpening steel but it was difficult to be accurate so I switched to a Japanese ceramic wheel sharpener, which was recommended by a chef friend. This worked reasonably well, BUT I discovered that the angle of Japanese blades is different to that of European blades. I have since tried this Wusthoff sharpener and it is excellent. I’ve deducted a star because it is not made in Solingen (where the knives are forged) but in PRC.

Amazing value day to day sharpener that is safe and easy to use.
Amazing sharpener that is safe and easy to use, I'll never buy another one! Of course you can do better with a whetstone or such but for day to day this ideal.

Well it certainly did sharpen my knife no complaints.

Not as useful as it seems
It is OK for Wusthof knives both the European ones and the Santoku types but don't try it on Global knives,it just does not work on those and might even ruin them. That means that you still need a separate sharpener for Global knives.I don't know about other Japanese makes,my knives are Wusthof and Global. The other problem is that it wears off and then it does not sharpen either kind of knives very well. You will need to replace the sharpener on a fairly regular basis,no spares for it.The sharpener initially is not expensive but the cost soon mounts up over a lifetime - yours or of the knives

Does a good job
Mixed reviews but took a chance and am please with the results. I'm sure that a sharper finish could be obtained with a stone but that takes skills I don't have! I do have wusthof knives so assume the blade geometry is ideal. The difference in sharpness before and after use really surprised me and I am very happy with the results.

amazing for home or work use
I recently started working as a chef and bought this along with a set of three wusthof knives.I first tested them on my seemingly sharp knives at home, but once a couple of pulls through this item they were razor sharp and then once at work i proceeded to sharpen the very blunt in house knives with great success.+great at putting the edge back on a blunt knife.+great value for money.+keeps blades at a razor sharp standard.-can wear down blades of lesser quality of metal reasonably quickly.(But that's what sharpening a blade does)Overall a great product that i would recommend to anyone either looking for it in home use or work use.
