DK Games: Silly Sentences Review: Sneaky Learning - I love games like these where kids are having fun and don't know they're learning. My 5 year old loves laughing over sentences he comes up with, and it's opened the door to talk about parts of speech and to work on reading short sentences. I like that the pieces won't fit unless the sentence makes sense grammatically, and I was impressed that there are so many words included. We've never run out of words to make more sentences. It's been a big hit and a nice addition to homeschool stations. Review: Fantastic way to supplement language arts learning. - It is where it all begins.. what you do with it is up to your imagination as a parent, how do you suggest your child to use it. You can simply ask them to construct sentences or you can go way beyond and above that. This can be random game of matching words starting with the same letter, it can be finding words that rhyme, or have the same number of syllables. You can improve their spelling and building different sentences from words of the sentence or sentences they start with. Truly opportunities for learning are endless! I love the set fort he sturdiness and simplicity. It is not complicated and that is why it can be used in so many different ways. Easy to clean by throwing back into the box for the next time. One of the best tools to help a child to learn to read, spell, and write because this is where it all really leads.. great writing skills.

Great game for Kindergarteners
My kid has this game in her classroom. i wanted her to have more practice outside of class. It's a fun learning game. I wish there were a few more word options. I'm sure they keep it simple for beginning learners. But I find my kid wanting to add words. So we write them on paper and add them to the sentence line. But each piece is a puzzle piece connection, making the scrap paper additions look sloppy. So it would be nice if there were blank puzzle pieces that they could write in dry erase marker to make up their own words. The game has a big selection of nouns, but needs more adjectives, verbs and adverbs. And blank puzzle pieces that can be inserted for learners custom words.

OVERALL A GREAT EDUCATIONAL GAME
I really like this game. We bought it to add to our educational game collection. We like to have a game day every Friday as part of our homeschool. This is a great game for reinforcing parts of speech and helping kids learn to create stories. My only constructive feedback is that there is one piece labeled “hero” with a picture of a sub sandwich. Although I’m familiar with what a hero sandwich is, I don’t think it’s relevant for the average 4-7 year old. I think it would have been better to put the word “sandwich” or replace the picture of the sandwich with a superhero. I’m just going to print out the word sandwich and tape it to the card. Otherwise this is a great game!

One of my FAVORITE classroom games/centers
I teach special education and LOVE this game for the lower elementary students. It's great for oral language development, sentence structure, increasing vocabulary, and also supports those students who aren't quite reading yet. A fun and silly game, easy to use as a center or a reward game. There are enough pieces for a good 4-5 students to work on this at a time, as long as they each make one sentence and put back those pieces when they are done, and then exchange for new ones.

GREAT KIDS GAME
GREAT GAME FOR KIDS LEARNING TO READ AND PUT TOGETHER THOUGHTS OF THEIR OWN. I PURCHASED THIS FOR MY GRANDSON THAT WILL ENTER FIRST GRADE THIS FALL. HE HAS LEARNED TO READ AND THIS MAKES THE GAME SO MUCH FUN. HE IS DETERMINED TO FIGURE OUT WORDS AND THIS HELPS HIM RECOGNIZE WORDS. AS HE GETS OLDER I AM SURE HE WILL ENJOY IT MUCH MORE.

Thought I was buying the same game as what the teacher had.
My kids have played Silly Sentences with their enrichment teacher & liked it so much that I thought I would buy it for them & we could play at home. A fun way to play & learn at the same time. Anyway this version of Silly Sentences doesn't have the spin wheel or game board according to what my 8 & 6-yo tell me. They said that their teachers game is better. This just has the different word groups & you pick from the different colored piles to form a sentence. I don't think the sentences are as silly compared to the other version where you spin the wheel. But for what I paid for it I guess it's worth it, but certainly wished we had the other version.
