These work very well and add a lot of flavour to barbecued food if used well.I've not managed to use them more than once but they work so well and are worth the money for a single use.Soak in water for one hour then place a whole salmon or salmon fillets on one side and grill for 20 mins.... so wonderful.To have them ready at a moments notice you can soak them and then freeze them.

Great for birhouse edgings.

GREAT PRODUCT

After talking to some Canadian friends who gave me this idea to smoke salmon on a cedar plank I ordered them from Amazon and was very disappointed with the product. This is not a plank!! it is as thin as laminate flooring and therefore doesn't really smolder and help smoke the fish, more incinerate the fish when the plank dries out quickly and then bursts into flames. They are not very thick and therefore dont hold enough moisture to allow the process to properly.

Very poor quality. Several were broken when they arrived and the surface is so rough that it makes putting food directly on to the plank - which is the whole point - unsafe because of the high possibility of splinters entering the food.

Tried soaking, tried rising up from the heat and tried smoking with them.I now just split them into kindle because the basterd things burn up anyway
