Incomplete Doctrine.
This is a wonderful thought provoking book full of wisdom and insight. This book will get you in the right headspace for a spiritual journey but it is incomplete in the sense of it speaks good words but lacks the psychological connection necessary for change. It offers no insight on the psychology of why the things that it critiques are the way they are. It's almost like the bible where it says these things are bad so do this. The problem with virtue and vice is you cannot will change without knowledge and understanding of the spiritual and psychological.

Brilliant
I am absorbing this essay I am not just reading to be entertained. It is a masterful study on the dedication of ones own opinion. I am just half way through studying with this beautiful truth. Congress should require all students to study with extra ordinary care the essay every day. His analogy no kernel of nourishing corn can come to him but through his toil bestowed on that plot of ground which is given to him to till. resounds through out the essay. The more I read it his case of perseverance with ones obligations to continue no matter the circumstance is an inspiration to us all whether we are poets or not.Terrance Tracy

Why is the narrator not listed? Who is the voice over narrator for this book?
The narrator sounds really great, wish I knew who it was.

Kind of boring.
Not what I thought it would be.

One of many
This is a handy dip-in size to have within reach when you need a taste of Emerson. It's a good book to loan out to interested friends, as long as you haven't marked it up too much. Most likely they don't want you preaching to them. If you're feeling flush, pick up several copies and insert them here and there around your community. There's nothing wrong with feeling smug, is there?
