Absolutely better than 85%of the T5 lights out their that are much more expensive
Amazing light- especially for the price! With having an 8 bulb reflector, its beyond convenient to be able to run half of the bulbs at a time. Meaning with smalling plants, clones, & seedlings you are saving money. If you do decide to run half the bulbs & later run all 8, I highly suggest keeping track of bulb use per hour, by each set of (4 bulbs each switch). The reason being, is fluorescent lights will fade. Meaning you will lose 60% or more of the lumens. They normall will still light & you can not tell with the human eye that the bulb is putting out very little usable light to the plants. I have a white piece of tape for each switch and for every week i only use 4 bulbs, I but a mark. If I veg for 5 wks with only the the 4 bulbs, I will have 4 marks & the faith mark crossing through the 4 marks. T5 are typically good for 3-4 grows before you need to put fresh bulbs. On the second grow when you are starting with seedlings or clones, swap the 4 bulbs from the middle (they will have 5 weeks of use more than the outside bulbs) & with the 4 bulbs from the outside. (To keep track of the hours on the bulbs, multiple each mark that equals a week *7days* TIMES the hours of your light cycle ***example mine was 18 hours on from seedling till they were medium sized**** so that 7 (days a week) multiple buy 5 (weeks I only used that half of the bulbs) ***7x5=35*** so that equals 35 days used. So then you multiple days used 35 x (light cycle) mine was 18 hours on. So thats ***35 days X 18 hours = 630 hours of use. I have a 3rd price of white tape i keep track of all 8 bulbs being used. Same method I used above when keeping track of just when the 4 bulbs hours where being recorded. ***********it may seem like a lot of work for nothing, but as long as you have a reliable, easy method to keep track- you will get the most out of ur set up. Nothing worse than having 3/4 grows with plenty of quality "produce" & then on the 4th, 5th, 6th grow (when ever the bulbs are spent)& you only 15%-20% of "produce" you got the previous grows on top of the fact that the size, flavor & quality are also only 15-20% of ur previous grows. Then you wasted months of time & work & money on products aka food, soil, amendments, additives, clean water, and electric...... Ends up costing you a whole lot when you factor that in. I bought 2 of these lights & i absolutely love them!!!!! And these extremely cheap light, its great & does not seem like a cheap light! I can put it right next to my $300 4ft 8 bulb "name brand" light & other then a couple very minor short cuts, you would think this light would be very close in price. I got 2 for the price of my high end T5 & $70 left over to buy fresh bulbs to store for the moment I need them. Surprised you get so much for you money & comes with a 5 year warranty *I think its 5 years* unbelievable!!!! If you are not sure about purchasing this light because of the price/quality cant be true, it is true!!!! Dont blow more money on a different light. Ipower has a 6 bulb light similar to this, it has aluminum for a reflector. This light has a 85% or 95% reflective hood. Aluminum used as a reflector, I doubt would reflect more than 30-40% of the light back to the plants (even if its high polished aluminum) at the time if this review- that light is about $40 more & definitely wont come close to what this light does! Much love to my fellow gardeners! Roots down, leaves up 🙌🏼

Defective light sockets
I have ordered 6 of these fixtures. The bulbs are very hard to turn to click in and even brake the pins of the bulbs themselves, it's almost necessary to have 2 people with 1 on each side to install them.Last 2 lights I ordered in February 2021 both are defective and it's only middle of March and return window is closed. 1 of the lights has 1 defective socket and the other all 4 outside bulbs don't work. Between the 2 fixtures I also ended up getting 3 broken bulbs.Light output is good and heat isn't bad when they do work.

Well made and extremely bright!
After reviewing Amazon's 4' T5 options, I'm happy I went with this purchase while saving a few dollars. Fixture and bulbs came in perfect working condition. Easy to install with pre-existing hangers from my previously antiquated T12 setup. Maybe my Basil will finally start growing. Here's some info/opinions -- apologies if it's been repeated from other reviews.Dimensions - 47.25" x 18.25" x 2.5"Weight - w/out bulbs and cord - 10lbs -- w/cord 12lbsSurface heat of center bulb while all 8 powered - 160F (room/ambient temp 75F)Surface heat of wooden table at 12" without fan - 92F (room/ambient temp 75F)Advertised photos are slightly different from what was received, but expected by reading reviews. The system was setup about 3 hours ago and 2 of my small, suffering Basils have already shown signs of activity. This product as rated puts out 400+ watts and with high wattage (even in the LED world) means heat will be present. Mine's currently in an open space with decent airflow, but if decided to contain to a closet grow I would rethink the fan setup. The fixture itself is relatively cool to the touch (75F top -- 80F sides). If deciding to grow a larger setup, based on the hanger system, there's much to be desired when daisy chaining because of the balance issues, but at 10lbs a fixture there's not a complaint. I'll update in a month as long as DuroLux continues to provide this product on Amazon. Grow on!

This lasted almost 4 years to the day.
Things I liked about this product are that it had 2 switches, each controlling 4 bulbs, Allowing me to switch between red light or blue light light between seasons, though I did not actually do that. It had 2 sturdy chains to hold it up, one for each side, and I can't say enough about the power cable, which was always longer than I needed. It seems like no matter how far I ever needed it to reach in different plugs, it was always 1 foot longer than I needed.Things I dislike are that eventually bulbs start to go out and not come back. Also, the twising that you do to add or remove lightbulbs can actually break the end point, in my case after 4 years, during their 4th lightbulb change. At the end there was only 1 bulb left that worked, and I replaced all 8 bulbs (well, 7, one endpoint broke) and of them only 1 came on - the one that had last been on from the previous set. So I'm guessing that was a ballast problem. In the end, this thing served me well and I have no regrets, but I installed it's replacement today and it is an LED unit with the same light and half the size, because the price on those has come down a lot in the last 4 years. It cost almost exactly the same as this did, and was so much smaller I thought I ordered the wrong size.
