Industrial products such as caulking backing rod are simple but important to a long term solution. This large size backing rod is an excellent price value. It was easy to work with. We installed 40 feet in about 20 minutes. If you need large size 1 1/4” is what I ordered this is perfect.

My house is on adobe clay and can shift a little when the adobe contracts and expands (the house sits on jacks). A small spaced opened up between my house and the patio. My concern was for moisture as well as for termites getting in under the house. I surfed for a way to fix the opening and stumbled upon backer rod in the process. I bought this and it fit perfectly in the space which is nicely sealed now. Easy to work with and cost so much less than hiring someone to do it (I was quoted $600 for a fix that would have required more materials and work). Very pleased with this as a solution!

I was advise by a garage door installer that if the bottom of the door didn't seal well to order some backer rod. So I measured the seal opening when the door was open. This worked great. Very happy

This size was perfect for the joint between the garage floor and driveway. The joint was about one inch wide and the 1 and 1/4 size gave enough tension to hold the backer rod secure for the zikaflex self leveling caulk. I also used the remaining backer rod to fill the new rubber bottom seal for the garage door that also worked well.

Definitely overpriced

I never used this product before but I saw it used on YouTube for a contractor sealing around a building foundation. I had some gaps around my foundation that never had been sealed. So I used this product between my garage and garage apron. The product worked like a charm. I highly recommend this product for the use it is designed.

I ordered 1-1/4" width backer rod 50' length. Actual size is 1-3/8" width. It is well bundled in a plastic bag. Easy to manage.

Filler rod did its job well. I had an expansion joint between the house foundation, and concrete driveway. Needed to get the filler rod so it could be installed in the gap and then pour sealant over it. The foam was easy to cut, and fit in gap. Although I did notice a 1/4" oversized diameter works best. Otherwise it becomes hard to compress it enough to get into the gap. Overall very useful product, and the caulking in expansion joints looks nice.

Product was exactly as advertised and worked well.
