ITA-MED Rigid Plastic Neck Brace - Adjustable Cervical Collar for Men & Women, White (XL)

This is a hard collar in the style of a soft collar. While the materials are cheap (but sturdy) plastic, and there's almost no foam to help with comfort, the DESIGN is very good. You can easily adjust the height of the collar fit your neck: from a stump like mine to a more graceful length. The holes around it let it breathe keeping it surprisingly comfortable against the neck itself. And, even though there's no real foam, it is surprisingly comfortable to wear. ANd, boy, does it help relieve the pressure in my neck! The support it gives my neck and head is fantastic among all the collars I've had and tried (from Philly-style to soft-), I can even sleep in it which is unusual for me. Not everyone will find it as comfortable and helpful as I did; however,since it is fairly inexpensive, it is well worth the try. If you get it through Prime/Amazon, you can always return it (don't destroy the simple packaging it comes in).

Don't waste your money. This could potentionally provide adequate support, though I can't say how comfortable. But the folded plastic device is so rigid that it doesn't conform to round necks, and thus the Velcro doesn't stay connected. Complete waste and non refundable.

I’ve been waiting for this product to use and hopefully get some relief from my neck pain. But after trying it for few minutes it feels too big for my neck and I feel I’m getting chocked. I purchased a size L and I don’t have an issue with the length or the collar around my neck since I followed the sizing guide provided.My problem is the collar’s height.On the description it’s mentioned that the collar is adjustable 3.5-4.5 inches. That’s kind of a true statement. It is adjustable but it’s not 3.5 and rather 4 inches. And that’s why I feel like getting chocked and the most uncomfortable part is my chin area.The Velcro is not the strongest but it works.Anyways I have to return it back since (as you can see in the picture) it looks like 4 inches high and is too big for me and I need to go with a collar of probably 3 inches.The overall look and quality is well and if you think 4 inch collar is a right size for you I would recommend you buying this.The picture shows my measurement of the area under my chin.

I ordered this in 2014 and am going to order another as it has been exactly what I needed and has stood the test of time. I have what's called Os Odontoideum and went through a failed cervical fusion and just needed something to help me when I do certain activities where I am using my neck a lot. To try and help reduce pain and headaches after. ie. driving, riding, grocery shopping, going to the dentist. SO I have used it for the past 7 plus years on and off and had I not gotten poison ivy oil on it I would still be using it. It is adjustable, the Velcro works great. I will say that the Velcro has lost some of its strength over time but that is to be expected. Its easy to adjust.

I do like this and wear it daily. My only issue it the back as shown in the picture is a little too tall and rubs against my head. If you have a long neck it will probably be fine. If I'm painting and just watching movies its great, but if I'm moving around a lot then it bothers me.

It does what it's suppose to do for sure but sleeping in a bed is quite a bit less comfortable than sleeping on a plane or bus or in a car.Once I was able to fall asleep I did stay asleep for a change and I woke without as much neck pain and even better it reduced my morning head pain upon awaking. I'm still trying to decide if I should try to exchange if for another product.Ok so after a week or two of use I've decided I needed to update my review.. it's still slightly uncomfortable UNLESS you loosen then strap. I've found that I fall asleep better while it's lose. With my neck injury I do have stiffness upon waking up but I do my stretches.I like it.

They put the Velcro on the inside and didn’t use strong enough Velcro to hold. When you put it on it immediately pulls apart which makes it useless. They spent so much time trying to make the height adjustable they totally messed up it’s ability to stay closed around the neck. Just pulls apart even if you are perfectly still, you can hear the Velcro releasing on its own.

I was looking for a neck support that would be taller than the Futuro ones they sell at all the retail chains since the Futuro one could only be good for a child size neck, and offers little support. This neck support is bascially made up of two plastic strips with some very firm padding on one the top of one strip, and the bottom of the other. The two strips Velcro together so that in order to adjust the height, you just Velcro the two strips at different positions.My first problem with neck support , is just as a reviewer said about the version of this with the chin support, is that it bites painfully into your neck area, both front and back, as the padding on the edges is very thin and hard. I imaging I'm going to have to wrap it with cotton badding or something of the sort.My other problem with this is that there are no details on the sizes vs. neck size. I have a pretty big neck and head, such that most shirts don't fit around my neck, and hats don't fit around my head, so I ordered the XL version. Unfortunately, it's way too big.Overall, this product is a disappointment and a waste of a design effort. People need to think through and test products a little better before putting them on the market just to have them fail.

Thanks to Amazon staff, they expedited return of Medium and shipment of Large size. Quality brace made in San Francisco, CA by ITA-MED of durable and washable materials. The neck height adjustment is done through separating and adjusting the brace's two layers, one with trimming at the bottom, the other at the top, these two parts are joined by Velcro.Brace worked well as soon as worn, taking the weight of the neck that has overall cervical instability as well as (L) facial nerve pain.Note it is being worn backwards, to provide support/stabilization to (L) brachial plexopathy due to hypermobilit identified as EDS(Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome Type III).

this item gives the person who uses it, bruises and scratches. would not recommend for anyone and would not buy again.

I've no idea how anyone could wear this for more than five minutes! I've tried every possible configuration, variation, adaptation, modification, alteration (you name it, I tried it), I could think of and even researched any and all other possible ways of properly using or applying this thing. Perhaps it's simply that my body/neck type just isn't built for this kind of restraint as it has caused me far more pain and discomfort than any 'Alleviation' it could have potentially provided. I am, however, 'Glad To Hear' that some have indeed found it helpful. But keep in mind, this is obviously not for everyone. As a result, I've changed the original rating based upon the following reasons; 1st - It is not universal, nor is it comfortable (causing pain and serious discomfort). 2nd - It is not very intuitive for those unfamiliar with these types of medical devices. 3rd - While still keeping as a backup for emergencies, it can easily be transported requiring minimal space (thin & flat) unlike other similarly standardized neck bracing devices when nothing else is available. 4th - It is a versatile, quality product which has been intelligently engineered. 5th - It does reduce head movement helping provide immobilization of the cervical spine. If this thing can help you, go for it. It just isn't for me.Good luck...

my mother in Law is using, all these time she never moved about but now she is going out and stay for 3 hours in the church. I will recommend to other people.

Very light. Quite stiff, maybe uncomfortable for some, but good support. Washable so yo can wear in the shower unlike most other braces.
