CB CRT 2000H radio, 4W, AM/FM, 12V, ASQ, Scan, Color display, programmable

I purchased two CRT 2000H new transceivers & they both suffered from intermittent audio crackle on distant stations , the crackling audio sound is only among the white noise when the squelch is switch off , the radio works fine , however the crackling audio I found most annoying on distant stations, I suspect it's a floor in the software .Consequently I purchased the previous model CRT 2000 & that was absolutely perfect .
